So.. after months of waiting... finally got our interview date.. October 12th, 2010.
We got there at 9 am.... waited until 1200pm to actually see the first person in the process.
We handed over the required docs, (police certs, birth certs etc)...
Then it was another 1 hour wait to be interviewed... which was suprisingly light and cheerful.
The officer spent most of the time talking with me.. and making jokes. It was done in like 5 minutes...
Best advice i can give.. if you can make it to the interview (petitioner) GO!! It makes it so much easier on your loved one... plus it makes it clear of your intentions... and that they are genuine.\

In total I was in the embassy for 2 hours....most of the time waiting for my number to be called. My wife (us citizen) came in with me, but couldn't come to the window. You get called up twice. I was asked several basic questions about when and where we got married and where we intended to live. No drama, quite speedy. I did notice though other people took a lot longer...by the time I was at the desk to pay for the courier I was in front of a couple who started their interview 2 hours earlier

after much waiting and nervous hanging around, today I had my interview at the London Embassy. The appointment was at 9, and I got there pretty early - 07:50 just to check location etc. They were already queuing to get inside so I joined the queue. As expected no electrical items allowed and quite a few people were turned away and directed to the local store.
On entry I was given number 14 for immigrant visas time stamp at 08:08. The room was quite large, and they have screens indicating which numbers are being called to which area. and immediately went straight for the coffee to try and relax the nerves. ON entry they were only on number 1, so I knew it would be wait. A rough estimate on timing was that every 20 mins the next immigrant number will be called (non-immigrant visa every minute - and the constant announcements of numbers got pretty frustrating).
As my number got closer, the nerves started to build up. I was called up at 10:20.

I arrived at 9.15am for my 10am appointment.
I waited for 10 minutes outside and at security. I was asked for my passport and appointment letter at this time.
I was given an 'I' appointment number at reception and advised to sit at the far end of the waiting room, near window 1.
I waited approximately 3 hours to be called to window 1.
At window 1 I was asked for my passport, appointment letter, birth certificate (plus copy), police certificate (plus copy), my I-134 plus fiance's employer letter. My finger prints were then taken. I was asked if I had paid my fee online. Because I hadn't I then had to go to the cashier at window 12 and pay there. I then returned to window 1 and was given a pink slip and asked to sit down and wait to be called for interview.
I was called to window 15 after approximately 15 minutes and the interviewer asked me how I was. I was then asked to hold up my right hand and swear that al... read complete review
