First off I have to say, being prepared is the biggest asset for this, I cannot thank everyone enough for the advice on this site.

Arrived into the area just after 7am (8:30am appointment), sad to say (but kinda poignant in a weird way) McDonald's for breakfast. Gould's opened at 7:25 as there were about 3-4 other people waiting for pictures. Those guys in that shop do an amazing job, to turn around photos in under 5 min with a smile at half 7 in the morning, fantastic.

Queue was decent enough, minor panic attack when everyone was holding barcode slips but soon realised that they were non-immigrant entrants. Breezed through into security & into the waiting area, you cannot stop yourself from looking up everytime a number is called.

I was the second I number, & was called 15 min before due time. Another minor panic when the guy asked for a copy of my birth cert as well as the original along with the fiance's tax return. Very brief & good chat, fingerprints etc then it was pay the fee & fill out the courier form & wait.

Waited for another 10min or so, called to second window where a nice guy asked very few questions (where did you meet, when did you propose, where will you live) checked fingerprints then said well done, paperwork excellent & that I was approved.

Went and paid for the courier service, spoke to the guy dealing with it & he said that the embassy had been processing visas quite quickly so the 5-6 days could be half that.

All in all, good prep thanks to the site, following the onsite instructions all paid off for me to be approved and out of the embassy before 9am. Over the moon, straight to the travel agent to book my flight
