Left Carnoustie at 7pm and got the bus to Dundee.
Left Dundee at 8:40pm on the overnight bus to London and arrived at Victoria Coach Station (right in the centre of London) at 7:00am. Dropped my bags into Left Luggage for the princely sum of £3.45 for 24hrs. Walked to Goulds Pharmacy (about 20 min walk) which is right around the corner from the Embassy and got 4 Photos for £7.60.
Went for a coffee and breakfast at the cafe beside Gould's and statred queing at the embassy at 9:30am (appointment was at 10am). Took exactly 30 mins to get through security. Saw quite a few people getting turned away for having mobiles or not having the right documents.
Went inside and got my I number for the day. Mine was I-924 but when I got there they were only just caling out I-908. I thought ahhh won't be too long now. Boy was I wrong 2 hours later I got called.
When I finally got to the window the very nice and polite gentleman asked for the usual Birth Cert and copy, Police Cert and copy, Appointment letter and passport. Now this is where things could have gone horribly wrong. Even though I had a confirmation email from the embassy stating that my DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157 and DS-230 had all been received it seems that they were mislaid somewhere as there was no sign of them according to the officer. Luckily I had brought multiple copies of all of them which he was happy enough to take and apologised for the mistake. TAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING!!
Then after another 2 hour wait when the place was starting to get eerily empty of other people I got called for interview......which lasted 30 seconds. He asked how we met and then said I was appoved and the visa should be there in a week.
It was such an anti climax for the whole 4 hours 
So I left and wandered around London until my bus at midnight which was another 9 hours home.
Oh well atleast its done now. Everyone at the emabssy was very nice and helpful and apart from misplacing my forms it really couldn't have gone any better I suppose.
