Thank you to all VJers who have helped us on our journey. I arrived at the embassy early (at 7.50 for a 9am appointment) and dropped my phone and car key at Goulds who were excellent. After going through the security checks, I entered the embassy at 8.15am. I was given an I number but all the numbers being called were N - do not get disheartened, your turn does arrive. I noted that I numbers were being called to two windows for initial interviews and two different windows for later interviews. There were only 9 people ahead of me and I was called about 1.5 hours after arriving. The first lady asked for my passport, birth certificate & copy, police certificate & copy, two passport photos (Uk size), my divorce certificate & copy plus I134 completed by my fiancee. With the I134 she asked for 2009 tax return & letter from current employer. I then paid the fee (which I was told should now be paid online prior to interview - new change this week, I should have received an email?), returned r... read complete review

First off I have to say, being prepared is the biggest asset for this, I cannot thank everyone enough for the advice on this site.

Arrived into the area just after 7am (8:30am appointment), sad to say (but kinda poignant in a weird way) McDonald's for breakfast. Gould's opened at 7:25 as there were about 3-4 other people waiting for pictures. Those guys in that shop do an amazing job, to turn around photos in under 5 min with a smile at half 7 in the morning, fantastic.

Queue was decent enough, minor panic attack when everyone was holding barcode slips but soon realised that they were non-immigrant entrants. Breezed through into security & into the waiting area, you cannot stop yourself from looking up everytime a number is called.

I was the second I number, & was called 15 min before due time. Another minor panic when the guy asked for a copy of my birth cert as well as the original along with the fiance's tax return. Very brief & good chat... read complete review

I arranged to stay in London for a few days with a friend. My interview time was 9am. I left my friend's house at maybe just after 7:30 to leisurely walk the ~45 minutes to the Embassy. I arrived at Grosvenor Square and slowly walked around the garden in the Square towards the Embassy. I observed the scene and at first it was a little confusing, as it looked like there were two different queues. But of course the second queue was just those who'd gone through the first queue. So I got in line and waited. At this time the line wasn't too long. At some point I got to a notice that said electronic devices were not permitted inside the Embassy. I was already aware of this, and had taken great care to leave my mobile etc. behind. (Which wasn't nice as my friend and her roommates didn't get home until late, so I had to hang out in the British Library for a while and wander back and forth in the cold with no way of contacting them to find out when someone would be back. But hey haha.) However... read complete review

Hey there, I just recently had my interview for a K1 Fiance Visa at the US Embassy, and was approved! I read these reviews prior to the big day, and just wanted to tell you how much they help, so I extremely recommend you read them, as it helped me unbelievably on the day, as I knew exactly what to expect! So here goes!
I arrived to Marble Arch tube station(5 minutes walking distance to US embassy), at around 7.30am. My appointment was not until 9am, but wanted to give plenty of time as im sure you will too. I found the embassy very easily, with help of printing out Google maps, just a thought anyway. I got to the Embassy at around 7.40,just to check it out... there was already a line! I knew I was far too early,so decided to back track about 100 yards to a starbucks! Goulds pharmacy is fanastic and extremely convenient, as it on the way to the embassy. and also, it was only 3 pound for my mobile and ipod!very handy! Anyway, after Goulds pharmacy i proceeded the 1 minute walk to... read complete review

Left Carnoustie at 7pm and got the bus to Dundee.

Left Dundee at 8:40pm on the overnight bus to London and arrived at Victoria Coach Station (right in the centre of London) at 7:00am. Dropped my bags into Left Luggage for the princely sum of £3.45 for 24hrs. Walked to Goulds Pharmacy (about 20 min walk) which is right around the corner from the Embassy and got 4 Photos for £7.60.

Went for a coffee and breakfast at the cafe beside Gould's and statred queing at the embassy at 9:30am (appointment was at 10am). Took exactly 30 mins to get through security. Saw quite a few people getting turned away for having mobiles or not having the right documents.

Went inside and got my I number for the day. Mine was I-924 but when I got there they were only just caling out I-908. I thought ahhh won't be too long now. Boy was I wrong 2 hours later I got called.

When I finally got to the window the very nice and polite gentleman asked for th... read complete review
