Went in to present the I-130 (DCF for my Peruvian wife). Got there a few minutes before it opened at 7:50 AM (or was that 8:50 AM? my memory is fading now as it was 2 weeks ago , and stood in the line. Then the line started progressing and when I got near the front the official looked at what I was presenting and told me I was in the wrong line, and pointed me to the right where there was no line, so I went over there. I had to leave my cellphone, but they gave me a ticket so that I could get it back later, and then walked back and to the left and a guy who was the guard gave me a number and I had to wait my turn. I'm not sure how I was # 72 in line when I got there right at 8 AM, but anyways, I waited until my turn. Everybody was seated down outside under a shade tent thing, and when it was your turn you approach a window and talk to a lady through the window. She reviewed my documents very quickly (and took off the clip I had) and then said something linke "... read complete review

This was a different set of circumstances; she previously had a K1 Visa and traveled back to Peru within 3 weeks and never married; the guy was a real jerk.
Therefore, in her interview on my petition (years later); she was prolonged to be interviewed and scrutinized even more; which makes sense.
She followed the law, was open and honest, met every requirement and we prepared every document; showed evidence of departing within 90 (was about 20 days). Happy to say "Welcome to the United States of America".
It's admirable, to be part of a very "just" process. The experience was long at the embassy and the I-129F; but trust me; it's all worth the wait. Good luck to each and all. Trust and believe; it's a fair process.

Gee, where to start? I guess I will start on Friday a full 3 days before the interview. I had been in Lima for a few days and we decided to go over all the documents to make sure that all was prepared properly. We ( fiancee and myself) decided that we needed to clarify some of the info on 1 of the forms so Saturday, we went to a near-by internet cafe and filled out the form online and then printed it in duplicate. We had duplicates for all the needed forms now.
On Sunday we checked everything again and made sure the alarm on 2 clocks were set to go off on Monday at 6AM for our 8:45 interview. We stay in an apartment in Miraflores and wanted to make sure we had enough time to get a shower and a bite to eat and to be at the embassy around 7:30. We placed the briefcase with all the documents on the table so as not to forget it. Of course, neither of us slept much this night and I woke up around 4AM and I think Patricia slept only off and on all night. We had NO problem getting o... read complete review

This was our experience for my wife's CR-1 Visa interview. This was a DCF filing.
Her appointment was at 0845 and we arrived around 0800. We had to wait in line outside for about 15 minutes before security let us inside. Once inside, we waited about 15 minutes before getting called to Window #13 (Lucky 13?) The lady there asked my wife for all the documents and sealed medical reports. She "interviewed" her and everything went well until my wife could not remember the zip code of where we will live in the USA when we move there. Luckily, I was there and she allowed me to come to the window and help answer the zip code mystery. It lasted about 10-15 minutes and then was instructed to pay the $404 USD at the window #15. After the man took our money, we were instructed to sit and wait. We waited about 2 1/2 hours in that big room with the uncomfortable bench seats. We did chat with another couple going for a K1 visa. They were very nice but we did not catch their nam... read complete review

... read complete review
