My appointment was 830, I arrived at 8 and was out of the building by 9! You line up, hand over your DS-160, go through security, go inside and show your passport, then you go straight to window 22. There you hand over your passport and appointment confirmation, then take a seat. 5 mins later you speak to the second window, where they take your prints and confirm your details on the DS-160, then you wait about 5 minutes more and have your actual interview with the consular officer.
You swear the oath to be truthful, and then she asked me the follow questions:
- When and how did you meet?
- Did you stay in touch after leaving the United States and before moving to Berlin together?
- How long were you in the states for while studying?
- What does your fiancee do for work?
- When did you get engaged?
- As you're both living in Berlin, is it your intention to move to and stay in the United States?
I think that... read complete review

I had a very pleasant experience at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt. My appointment was at 7:30am and I arrived at the Consulate at 6:40 and did not have a problem to find a parking spot at all. I got in line and was literally the 3rd person to be called to the first window and then inside for security screening at 7:20am. At the security screening, I had to give away the X-Ray dvd from my medical appointment in exchange for a ticket to pick it up after my interview was done.
I then walked across a little yard into the actual building. At the reception, I had to show my appointment confirmation and was told to go to counter 22 which is the cashier and had to wait until a little after 7:30am for the cashier to arrive. He was very friendly and put my passport into a folder. After, he told me that I will be called at window 19 very shortly. Literally 5 minutes later, a friendly lady called my number and took my fingerprints and checked mine and my fiancé's addresses. She had my ... read complete review

Had a very pleasant experience at the consulate in Frankfurt!
My interview appointment was at 7.30 am. I got there at 7 and got into the right lane (US citiyen service). Which luckily was the much shorter one. At 7.20 they opened the counter, where they scanned my the DS160 confirmation page and put a receipt in my passport.
At the security check you put your things in a plastic bag and walk through a scanner like at the airport. In the next building i was sent to a counter where i handed over my passport. At the next one they took my fingerprints and double checked my address and phone number. At the third i had my interview with the officer. It was really quick.
He asked me :
When and where i met my fiance.
What is he doing for a living.
When we saw each other last time.
Where we would be living and what State that is in.
He handed me my original documents back, told me everything looks well and that they will issue ... read complete review

We were in and out in 45 minutes. Everyone, from guard outside to consular officer who did the interview was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. There were no lines for green card/CR1 interviews....we were literally the only ones the entire time.
The actual interview lasted 10 minutes. Several detailed questions about how long we had known each other, where we met, how often we see each other, and whether/when my husband's son would be joining us. We were told immediately that we would be approved.
Having read the many mentions of stamps and envelopes here, i was prepared for that, but then the officer said that wasn't necessary.
We received the envelope in the mail 3 days later!
Really an excellent experience. Kudos to the team at Frankfurt Embassy!

We were the first to go through the electronic filing process at this Consulate..
As in anything, there are kinks in the process as they fine tune it. There was some mild confusion with regards to how they verify the documents in the system with the originals that you MUST bring with you because they will need to verify them. They only wanted to see Silke's notarized birth certificate and divorce decree to compare to what was on the screen. They asked nothing of me the petitioner as far as documentation. But obviously bring everything.
Our appointment was for 07:40 but that really only is to get you in line I believe at the consulate. Once you are in, you go to the cashier's window to pay any fees needing to be paid. We had none as we were all paid up.
We then got a ticket with a number and waited to be called. We then got a very nice woman who did the document verification with he documents I noted above. She explained he process very clea... read complete review
