It was super quick. I got to the embassy at about 6:30 and met three people already on the queue. Non-Immigrant on the left and Immigrant on the right. But we had to wait until about almost 8am to be let into the embassy and it was so cold. So come with a jacket and am glad I had one on. I was then called to the the first window outside the embassy where the lady tagged my passport and then asked me to wait around the corner and there I had to take out anything I had and put them in a transparent bag. After that we were let into the embassy in sets of 5 and we put our things in a box (wait until the security guys say you should put them in) he says loudly to wait until asked to put in. After the security check in we walked to a second building where I was asked to go window 22. I was the first one to be attended to and the man asked for my appointment confirmation which also served as proof of payment which I gave to him and he asked me to go back and wait in the large seatin... read complete review

My whole experience with the consulate in Frankfurt was very smooth and straight forward. Paket 3 and 4 were sent out quickly and I didn't have to wait long for my appointment.
My experience for my interview was very good too. I had an appointment at 7.15am and arrived at 7am. I left all my electronics in a locker at the Hbf. When I arrived an officer asked me what visum I was there for and told me what line to wait in. I had to wait about 40 minutes in front of the embassy before I got a number at a window. You then have to go through security which is similar to the airport. Once you're inside the embassy, you have to walk to another building in which a receptionist tells you where to go next. That building is a huge room with lots of windows with officers behind it on the walls and a bunch of waiting chairs in the middle. First I had to go to a window at which an officer checked that I payed the visa fee. After more waiting another officer at a different window checked that a... read complete review

I was on time, they had a big line outside the building, but everything has been processed pretty fast. Everybody was friendly and answered all the stupid questions they probably hear 45 times a day nicely. The officer asked me 3 questions, where I will live, how I met Jason and why I love him (which confused me) but we quickly started talking about hockey - because we play underwater hockey and the officer's son played field hockey. He smiled and wished me good luck. I had a whole day planned in Frankfurt and was tired but happily on my way back north.

The interview was the best part of the whole K1 process. My interview was scheduled at 8:00 am and I was there by 77:30. It was a long line to get to the embassy but as long as you leave all electronic items you'll get in very fast. The consular officers were very nice and polite, they mostly gave me the instructions on how to proceed with my permanent residence and what rights do I have in the US.
I was asked the following questions:
-How did you,guys, meet?
-How many times he visited me
-What city are you planning to live?
-Where does my fiance work?
I was worried first, since I had my two year rule home residency requirement with my J1 visa but everything was fine. I prepared some documents to prove my residency requirement but I didn't have to show them, the officer just asked where I worked to prove it.
Great experience and one of the best embassies I've ever been!

First of all I gotta admit, it has been a very pleseant experience with no hustle or anything.
I booked a room at the Hotel Am Wasserpark in Frankfurt which is in a 7 min walking distance to the Consulate.
The room was nice and cozy. The only bummer was that it was downstairs right next to the laundry room so there was a very strong smell of detergents and other chemicals but only in the hallway. Anyways it was a nice stay for a night. A Mc Donalds is right next to it so you can get Food all night Long. The Hotel was pretty affordable with only 60 € night.
However I did arrive a night before the interview, checked in and sorted my binder for the 100 th time. My Interview was scheduled at 7:30 so I walked there around 7:10 and got there at 7:15 or so since i was rushing a lil. So as I got there i was welcomed by a consulate employee and a security guy. Theyboth were in a great mood and asked me what Kind of visa i was applying for. I answered and the... read complete review
