My appointment was 830, I arrived at 8 and was out of the building by 9! You line up, hand over your DS-160, go through security, go inside and show your passport, then you go straight to window 22. There you hand over your passport and appointment confirmation, then take a seat. 5 mins later you speak to the second window, where they take your prints and confirm your details on the DS-160, then you wait about 5 minutes more and have your actual interview with the consular officer.
You swear the oath to be truthful, and then she asked me the follow questions:
- When and how did you meet?
- Did you stay in touch after leaving the United States and before moving to Berlin together?
- How long were you in the states for while studying?
- What does your fiancee do for work?
- When did you get engaged?
- As you're both living in Berlin, is it your intention to move to and stay in the United States?
I think that was it, though I might have missed something. She gave me my docs back that I had mailed in and that was it. Everyone is super nice there and really friendly, which is a massive difference to the US Embassy in London. I couldn't believe how quick everything was, and it seems that K1s have their own separate process to all the other people at the consulate, over in the corner. Come prepared and you'll have nothing to worry about!
