First: My interview went well.

We arrived a little late and a huge line was already waiting to register. We waited round about 10 minutes then went through security and to the main room with much more people waiting in the inside. For my understanding most of them for Non-Immigrant Visa. When I wanted to pay me and a lot other people was told they had massive issues to pay with credit card. So only cash was possible or you run to one of the gas stations near by.
Then we get a short note that they allow you to skip the line (and let other people get really upset on you but it is what it is). The walk back and forth takes round about 40 minutes for fast walker or less if you really run.
I finally paid. Only a little bit later we got called to counter 21. The guy was very nice and asked some questions about myself. We sat down afterwards and waited to be called to the actual interview.
The lady called us. She was nice, asked a few questions about our ma... read complete review

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

I accompanied my wife to her CR1 DCF interview - we had a 730 appointment and arrived at about 705.
Our Experience:

- There are two lines. One for immigrant Visas (To the left if you are facing the consulate). It is the shorter of the two. The other is for all other business.
- The first window checks passports and verifies your appointment letter before sending you to the queue for security.
- Security was super nice. I'm a type 1 diabetic who was. carrying my glucose meter and insulin pens. Security walked me through with it so that it would not have any issues and escorted us to the next building where we turned it in- should I need it. (They are very understanding and way to cheery for an early Wednesday morning!)
- After this we were directed to the payment window. We paid with Credit Card.
- We were then given a number and directed to sit and wait for it to be called.
- Maybe 5 minutes later we spoke with a ... read complete review

(My old account was deleted, so I am upping my old review) My appointment was on September 14th 2012 at 8.30 am. This is the time you have to be at the gates of the embassy. I went there by tram and had my backpack with phone etc stored at a booth next to the train station (it costs 5 Euros, but it is save there). There were two lines, one really long one and a short one. I asked the guard guy where I can line up and was pointed to the short one. After a bit of waiting, I was called to the window and handed in my invitation and passport, and was given a slip with a number (W610). Then I went inside for the security checkup, which was an overall pleasant experience. Then I went inside the hall. It is just as described, a big hall with lots of chairs and several numbered windows all around. I sat down and was after a while called to window 23, where my passport was taken and all my docs checked (I didn't bring anything with me but my passport and the incvitation). The woman said "It's al... read complete review

My appointment was at 7:30, I arrived at about 07:05. Two people were in front of me (the first one was in the wrong line I guess and the second one just wanted to pick up her passport), so actually I was the first person that got interviewed for an "immigrant" visa that day. I got my waiting number at 07:15 and went inside through the security check. They were actually pretty nice and not rude like some others said. In the second building I went straight to the first window where the woman took my passport and confirmed my appointment again. At first she couldn't find me and left to ask someone, but when she came back she told me that everything was fine. Around 07:50 I got called to the second window where the officer confirmed all addresses I put on the DS-160 and where I handed over my medical results (I brought it with me because I had my medical examination late the week before). "Only" 20 minutes later I got called to the third window for my actual interview which took about 5 m... read complete review
