My appointment was at 7:45 am on a Tuesday and I arrived there at 7:15, although the instructions with the appointment confirmation email said not to come more than 15 minutes ahead of time (this wasn't a problem though). I found a line of 13 people already waiting on the non-immigration side on the left, and I was asked to join that line instead of the immigration line - the security guard told me they're changing their system and everyone has to line up on the left.
***Helpful tip to those coming with bags: I was able to leave my small suitcase in the luggage storage room of the Best Western Hotel nearby at no cost, even though I hadn't booked a room there. All I did was write to them ahead of time and ask if it was possible.***

First of all, everyone in this embassy is absolutely nice and very helpful, but I still had some problems, which made me give them only 3 stars.
After I finally got the pack 4 from the embassy, I instantly looked up available interviewdates, but since it was only 2 weeks before christmas their next free appointment was january 10th. This really made me sad so me and my fiance decided that I will just get a later interview date in january and fly over to america for a month to celebrate christmas and new years with my lovely human.
My interviewdate was the 17th of january, so I decided to fly back from Washington DC to Frankfurt on the 15th, arrived in germany on the 16th and stayed in the hotel "villa am wasserpark" overnight because its very close to the embassy.

All went very smoothly. In and out within 1,5 hours. Prepare yourself thoroughly though, as I watched a lot of people struggling, missing papers and delaying the process for themselves!

Really quite simple, My fiance was in and out within an hour. she arrived around 830 for her 9 appointment, parking was a bit tricky but she found one eventually.
Not allowed to bring anything inside the consulate building other than required paperwork, entered the building after passing through security and entered the line. Apparently it was a slow do for the embassy since there was only 1 other person there for a K1 interview. Questions were very simple how did you meet? How long have you known each other? When and how did I propose? and where do we plan on living when she enters the US. That's about it she was approved and issued the visa which was mailed back to her in about 3 days with her passport. Easy enough

I had my appointment at 8 am and was there around 7.30 am.
Almost everyone was very friendly (only one of the security dudes was a little grumpy).
The consulate officer who interviewed me just asked three questions and then we started chatting about books and travelling.
- Where exactly did you meet?
- Do you and your fiancé have kids?
- Where do you want to get married?
