Had my AOS interview yesterday in San Francisco. Our appointment was at 7.30, but we arrived at 7. The adjudicator called us at about 7.50 am. The process went pretty smoothly, the adjudicator ran through the documents, asked for my passport and EAD, and my wife's passport, confirmed our residence and if we were living together. Overall pretty straightforward as we had all the documents and has multiple proof of living together (joint bank statements, credit cards, tenancy agreements from 2 places we lived together, etc).
She then asked me a set of standard oath questions (e.g. did i belong to the communist party, etc)
Adjudicator asked petitioner 3 questions: 1) Where did we meet, 2) Did she meet my parents and how many times, and 3) Do we have any prior marriages.
She had some issue with our marriage certificate as it didn't state that it was on file with the registrar of deeds, but I had a certified copy from that same registrar that h... read complete review

Appointment time was 8:10 AM. We were called by a friendly officer at 8:30 AM. She verified my husband's (applicant) application form - address, DOB, employer, parents' name. She asked when and how we met. She then asked if we had any additional documents to submit, and we provided 2 insurance bills and several pictures. She approved us on the spot. The interview was less 15 minutes. Very smooth interview, as it should be, since we are married for 5 years, and prepared everything meticulously. No RIF, no delay and quick approval. We were told that tThe green card should arrive within 2 weeks.

Hi,
Here is my AOS interview experience. We had appointment for 12:45 PM. Reached at 12:30. At the entrance guard saw our appointment letter and passports. Security was airport like. I had remove belt and shoes and go through xray.
We were asked to go to 2nd floor room 200. When we went there receptionist took our appointment letter and asked us to wait near door C. There are several doors in the waiting are A, B,C..F etc. After about 20 minutes, a lady called my name and we were led to a room.
She asked us to raise right hand and take oath of honesty. She then asked for passports. I noticed that already had our entire K1 petition on desk.
She first asked how we first met, how relationship grew, when did we get married. Then she asked my wife why your parents did not attend. My wife explained the reasons. Then she asked for SSN, EAD. Then she said you do not have birth certificate although since 1970 it is mandatory to have birth cert... read complete review

It was really as easy as we could have hoped. We took BART into the city and had a short 10 min walk to the office. We arrived 30 minutes early and they called us in probably 45 minutes after that. He had all the documentation we had sent in (including original photos) in a folder in front of him.
The officer asked us for our IDs (passports, DL & my husband's work permit) and then checked some details of our paperwork (asked who our other sponsor was, whether we had been married before/had kids). My husband had to say no to a long list of questions having to do with terrorism, drug trafficking and communism.
He asked us about how we met. We only had a joint credit card and wedding and honeymoon photos as new proof of our marriage. He took the credit card printouts and looked at the photos (but let us keep them). He asked both of us to say "one thing that annoyed us about the other," and to identify the other's parents in the photos that we had provided. B... read complete review

We had our AOS interview today, and the process went smoothly, so smoothly in fact that it seemed like a dream. We showed up 15 minutes early, went through security staffed by friendly guards, and headed up to the 2 nd floor, where we presented our letter and were told to wait in section E and wait for our names to be called.
Our IO, an Asian man in his thirties, called my fiancé s name and led us to room E. We said the oath, and then he asked for photo id s, followed by confirming the basic information on our application. After that, he started asking the more detailed questions about our marriage like how we met, if I had an issue with my fiances age as he is younger than me, and how his parents allowed him to marry in this way coming from a conservative country like India. We were nervous, but had prepared for all of these questions. He asked to see photos. We had brought about 20. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes, and he was friendly throughout. Nothing like... read complete review
