We had our AOS interview today, and the process went smoothly, so smoothly in fact that it seemed like a dream. We showed up 15 minutes early, went through security staffed by friendly guards, and headed up to the 2 nd floor, where we presented our letter and were told to wait in section E and wait for our names to be called.
Our IO, an Asian man in his thirties, called my fiancé s name and led us to room E. We said the oath, and then he asked for photo id s, followed by confirming the basic information on our application. After that, he started asking the more detailed questions about our marriage like how we met, if I had an issue with my fiances age as he is younger than me, and how his parents allowed him to marry in this way coming from a conservative country like India. We were nervous, but had prepared for all of these questions. He asked to see photos. We had brought about 20. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes, and he was friendly throughout. Nothing like many of the IO s I have read about in some reviews.
The whole process was so short I was taken back a little, mainly cause we had prepared like CRAZY, bringing every single document we thought was necessary and organizing them meticulously for quick reference of strong evidence. In the end, he only asked for our id s and the 20 photos. Incredible, but wow, I sure did w lot of prep work for that!
The experience was extremely positive, short, sweet, and to the point. Our officer was cordial and kind, and told us at the end he was going to recommend us for approval. It couldn't have gone any better. We feel so happy and so relieved. Thank you visa journey for all your helpful information and support. We relied heavily on the guides to get us through this 9 month process, beginning with a K 1 visa back in February, and ending on this day, November 4th, green card in production.
