If only the entire USCIS operated with the efficiency of the San Antonio office! She had her interview about 4 months after we filed for AOS. The interviewer was a nice young woman who although she was not Latina could speak Spanish and wanted to practice. Lucky for my wife since her English is marginal and I would not be allowed to translate. She asked us a few questions about how we met and after we talked about our courtship and how I learned Spanish in order to communicate with my wife, I thought she would swoon. She said, "How romantic!" and approved the AOS putting the stamp in my wife's passport. My wife brought along her wedding album and persuaded her to look at the photos so we had to take a few minutes to look through the album. She said it was lucky it wasn't her lunch hour as she wouldn't have wanted to look at the album but since it wasn't, why not? All in all, about as positive an experience as one can hope for in dealing with the USCIS.

We arrived for our interview, which was scheduled for 9:30a, and waited all of 5 minutes to be called in. The Adjudicating Officer escorted us to his office and sat us down. Just as he began asking questions, he had to excuse himself for about 5 minutes to take care of the "4 other things he had going at the same time", but he was very polite, and Luis and I were quite comfortable.
Once the interview actually began, we were only asked for Luis' passport and a photo of him with his identical twin. (USCIS had mistakenly put Luis' file together with his twin's file assuming they were the same person...in fact, Luis was given his twin's A# from the start, which of course, we never knew!!) Then the AO asked us how we met, how many people were at our wedding, if I had any family present at the wedding, and how long we've been married. The AO didn't look at any of our paperwork or photos. Nothing. He was very friendly and was joking around with us. He said we were approv... read complete review

Well. My whole AOS interview experience at the San Antonio office was, well, weird to say the least. We arrived at about 9:10 for our 9:30 appt. We got called in at around 10:00. The officer was very unprofessional. He never swore us in, or even introduced himself for that matter. He asked me if either of us had been divorced (no), if he had any kids (no), and if i was currently pregnant (no). He then asked to see a copy of our joint bank account, and that was it. He then took my EAD card (which excited me a little), then told me he couldn't give me my card because my name hadn't been cleared yet. He was quite rude about the whole thing, not offering much help or information, he just simply said "it could take a day, a year, 3 years, don't ask me!" (hhmmm... ok!?) I then had to ASK for my EAD card back from him as i wouldn't of had any other proof that i was authorized to work in the US. He looked at me kinda strangely, and then was like, "oh, yea, ok" Then, as me and my husband are st... read complete review

Based on the other reviews I was expecting a cake walk. Nope.
I am the 'immigrant'.
Appt was at 1:30pm, we got there at 1:15pm and were called at 1:40pm. Escorted upstairs and to his office by the inteviewing officer. On the way up in the elevator he asked if I had my Biometrics appt, I said yes, on June 13, 2006. Were asked to sit down with me on the right side. IO sorted through some papers, asked us to stand and swear under oath. Then came the questions... We were asked:
- our ages (I'm 8 years older)
- our previous marriages, any children. The IO asked my husband quite a few questions about his previous marriage, when married, for how long, why it ended
- about our engagement
- about our wedding
- about our courtship and visits before I entered on K1
- my husband about his education, job history and plans for the future
- me about my education and what line of work I plan on looking for
- me about my family ... read complete review
