We arrived for our interview, which was scheduled for 9:30a, and waited all of 5 minutes to be called in. The Adjudicating Officer escorted us to his office and sat us down. Just as he began asking questions, he had to excuse himself for about 5 minutes to take care of the "4 other things he had going at the same time", but he was very polite, and Luis and I were quite comfortable.
Once the interview actually began, we were only asked for Luis' passport and a photo of him with his identical twin. (USCIS had mistakenly put Luis' file together with his twin's file assuming they were the same person...in fact, Luis was given his twin's A# from the start, which of course, we never knew!!) Then the AO asked us how we met, how many people were at our wedding, if I had any family present at the wedding, and how long we've been married. The AO didn't look at any of our paperwork or photos. Nothing. He was very friendly and was joking around with us. He said we were approved, stamped Luis' passport with the I-551, informed us exactly what the approval meant/how we needed to lift conditions in 2 years, and told us to wait outside his office while he had the clerk correct the filing mistake. It took about 45 minutes, and the clerk came to us personally to show us the corrected file and A# assigned to Luis---finally, his very own A#
Not only did we receive a very pleasant interview, but we received Luis' permanent resident status AND an identity distinction within the USCIS
We left extremely relieved and content...
