Everything runs well and fast.
My appointment is at 8am but i arrived at 6:40 and the line was ready filled up.
We were lined up outside the consulate. Around 7am, they opened and allowed people to get inside. 2 security guards checked the bag and scan body. After that we queued again but separated into 2 lines (Immigrant and Non-Immigrant)
But people got mixed, just followed the guidance of GREETER(group of guiders wearing orange shirts). Here I was given a white paper which will be asked to write HCM case number and passport detail. This we will have to keep, if Visa is approved we will use this to register EMS.
Next step is security scanning, put all bags thru scanning like in the airport, all cellphones would be kept here.
Leaving this room, I was taken to the next queue for fingerprints and take the order number (mine is 2048). From now on, we need to watch our the board which display number and counter.
1st interview: window 8

We came to the consulate early, around 7, but I don't know that that makes much of a difference. Another couple came at the same time as us, and they were done 1.5 hours before us. Greeters helped us through lines and explained what to do next. When T went to go get a number, I was directed to sit down. Then when her number appeared on the screen we both went to the window, where a woman sorted through her paperwork and asked her general questions about getting the visa, like name, DOB, who is supporting her financially. We waited for a while for her to be called. T commented that they must have been looking at my I-134 for a long time. We were sure worried about going to the officer at one of the windows. He seemed to be pretty hostile with the interviewees. Instead, we went to one with two women, an African American and Vietnamese interpreter. We were asked to raise our right hands and tell the truth, and I was invited to sit down two rows away. The CO then asked T if she knew Englis... read complete review

For IR-1 Spouse Visa (married over 2 years with child)
We arrived at 7am and the line was already long. You can't miss it.
The security line moved fairly quickly. One guard (local Vietnamese security I believe) was less than friendly when asked a question, but the others were nice.
Once you get inside, there is another waiting line to go through security again (x-raying bags). From there there is another line while you wait to give them your information.
My wife waited inline alone while I went to the play area with my daughter. After about 45 minutes in line, she was given a number and we waited.
For our visa, it looked like there were 3 dedicated windows. It went fairly quick again. After they went through the paper work and gave us back what we didn't need, we had to wait for the interview.
The interview was quick, 2 or 3 questions. They didn't look at the pictures, likely because we have a da... read complete review
