Everything ran pretty smoothly. Following the security checks I actually got in through the embassy doors at 09.45am for my 10am appointment. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and very polite and I was treated with respect. I had collected a lot of information together to prove an ongoing relationship with Jeff, but they didn't even request to see that, I guess the fact that I have flown to the States four times in the past 9 months negated the need for paper proof. I left the embassy at 12 midday, just 2 hours after my appointment time, I was so pleased to be told my visa had been approved. Overall it was a very positive experience, as far as interviews go (much easier then being grilled at Seattle immigration following a 10 hour flight).

You know the story about the young man who arrives in London, it's raining so he goes for one pint in a great pub with great music and company, decent beer, a log fire? Well, gather round and I'll tell thee. The young man in question, his fiance, his sister and her fiancee go to the pub at 4pm, promising to leave by 6pm. Or rather, they say they're going to leave at 6pm but time slips away and they find it's 1am, they are all pretty drunk and have to get up at 6am for a rather important interview. Well, folks, that foolish young man was me.
And so it was, Mercedes and I arrived for the 9am interview at around 8.30am, took our place in the line, hung-over and on about 4 hours of sleep .... which is something I don't recommend. At 9.01am we made it into the embassy, got our ticket (Mercedes came into the Embassy with me) ... Welcome Ticket 5018. And we waited. And waited. And waited.
The waiting room was awash with people and while they were flying through t... read complete review

Had my interview today, very easy, just asked for my Birth Certificate, usc letter from employer and afvidavid.
Then called for the actual interview, asked how long ago we met, and whether I had been to the US and whether he had been here.
Then said congratulations you are approved.

My interview was scheduled for 9am and after a fraught journey into the city I only arrived at 8:45. I allowed 3 hours to get just 50 miles from my home to the embassy and I needed every minute. I strongly suggest you leave plenty of time to arrive as travel can go wrong!
On arrival there was a single queue on the North side of the building that then went behind some construction fencing as it turned south along the front of the embassy. While I stood there the security guard divided us up so those there for 9:30 appointments had to wait. She supplied us with clear plastic bags. One had to contain electronic items that could not be taken in (phones, mp3 players...laptops are a big no no!) and in the other went my belt, wallet, change, watch etc. You will get this bag back after security. Interestingly and contrary to what I have read here or on the US Embassy website they had no problem with my Fiancée coming in with me...in fact she was ready to go and wait it o... read complete review

It was simple and to the point if you have all of your paperwork organized and ready. The one thing that does seem odd to me is that the information on the website for K-1 visa's and the information given from the consulate is not exactly accurate with what they want to see in the interview. Or even through out the process. At any rate! It's been approved and we're happy.
