We were approved!
There was quite a long wait (I was there almost 4 hours in total) but no problems. When I first went in I was a bit frustrated to be told that my car keys counted as an electronic device, so even though I'd left my mobile phone at home to avoid the bizarre pharmacy drop-off scenario, I still had to go and leave my keys there (for £5)!
They didn't ask to see any of the relationship evidence that I'd laboriously prepared, but to be honest, I was just so happy to know that I'm finally going to be reunited with my h2b that I didn't really care!

My fiance arrived at the embassy for his 8:30 AM appointment at 7 AM sharp. He was the second person for immigrant visas to enter the embassy. At the security point outside, he was asked for appointment letter and passport: he showed his appointment letter and UK Resident Card, he was allowed in. After passing security clearance, he was asked for his passport and appointment letter again by the receptionist and he presented his UK Resident Card & appt letter. The receptionist asked him where his passport was and my dear fiance was ready to bust out his "Evidence of Why No Passport" folder especially for occasions like this, but the receptionist did not give him a chance to do that and gave him the go-ahead after hearing his reason and confirming with some people (IOs I think). Within 45 minutes of taking a seat, he was called to the first window for the initial document screening by an African American lady. My fiance gave her his UK Resident Card when she asked for his passport. She a... read complete review

So I arrived at the Embassy at 7.30am for a 9am interview. There were around 20 people in the queue. I went through security and walked up the steps to reception where i was given ticket 5002. Phew, I was glad I got a low number.
I took a seat in what seemed like Argos. I was disappointed with the inside of the Embassy. I think it could do with some updating or at least some air con.
I was so nervous while sat waiting in that room. All sorts were going through my mind..wot if I failed the medical? Silly really, thinking back!
At 8.45 I was called upto the 1st window & asked for passport, 2 pics, birth cert & copy, police cert & copy, I-134 & tax return (no W2's or 1099's which surprised me as my fiance is self employed). Then I was given a pink slip & told to sit & wait.
Then at 9.45am my number was called & my heart was racing. Eeek this is it!
I was hoping that I didn't get the red head woman I've heard horrid stories about & I was ... read complete review

I made my way to the U.S Embassy from Victoria Station (Victoria line to Green Park, then the Jubilee line to Bond Street). I did get a little lost because a police officer directed me in the wrong direction but quickly got that sorted. Dropped my phone and mp3 off at the pharmacy.
There was no line outside, even though it was 8:30am, so I went straight in through security.. was given a number (5019) and told to wait for my number to be called. It must have been around 3 and a half hours when I was called to the window. The man asked for my passport, photographs, birth certificate and police certificate... he asked if I had the financial evidence such as the 134 form, and some supporting document, so I gave him a tax form for both my fiance and our co-sponsor.
He then told me to pay for the visa service in the window next to us, and come back.. then gave me a pink slip and told me to go back to the waiting room, where I waited another hour or so to be cal... read complete review

My interview was at 0830hrs on the 28th of April, 2009.
I arrived by train and tube at Bond street and as I had walked my journey using google streetview, I knew exactly where I was and where to go. I arrived at Goulding pharmacy promptly at 0730, as they opened and stashed my electronic devices. I still had a normal-sized rucksack with paperwork in, a pen and some food and drink inside.
I lined up outside for about 30 minutes initially, from 0735 roughly, before noticing that my line went to a bunch of students and not the entrance...it was a check-in line for Camp America and because you couldn't see the front of the line, I'd thought it was for the Embassy. nevertheless, after walking up to the now empty line for the embassy, a lot of people who'd been doing the same followed. I got through security fine, had to take my belt off and had to take a swig of my bottled water, to prove it wasn't dangerous.
Next, I walked around the side of th... read complete review
