We were approved! 
There was quite a long wait (I was there almost 4 hours in total) but no problems. When I first went in I was a bit frustrated to be told that my car keys counted as an electronic device, so even though I'd left my mobile phone at home to avoid the bizarre pharmacy drop-off scenario, I still had to go and leave my keys there (for £5)!
They didn't ask to see any of the relationship evidence that I'd laboriously prepared, but to be honest, I was just so happy to know that I'm finally going to be reunited with my h2b that I didn't really care!
