Overall, I had a good experience during my interview!
I arrived at 8am (appointment was at 8:45am) and the security guard directed me to a long line of people. There was another security guard to the side holding up a small square shaped cardboard (approx. 12 by 12 inch) and said that any electronic devices, keys, or purse/package that was bigger than that cardboard would not be able allowed in and that the Embassy would not hold your items so basically…its your problem how you get rid of those items. A lot of people sounded mad but most were there with relatives, I left my purse with my mom and just when in with my documents and wallet.
Almost immediately, a guard called for anyone applying for a relative/fiancé visa to step aside and join another (much shorter) line. I went in almost immediately after that. Make sure to keep an eye out on your things going through the security point because I almost lost my appointment letter on the conveyor belt they use to scan y... read complete review

My wife went in for her interview this morning. She arrived at the Embassy in Lima around 5:45am and her interview appointment was for 8:15am - she was the first in line. She told me that the interview was a formality of everything we had turned in and done so far in the application process. The first step was meeting with the CSO who was young lady who treated my wife very well. She asked a few questions then asked me wife to take a seat. Then her name was called again by the second CSO who asked some of the same questions plus more, for example: Who is your husband's best friend? Can you point him out in the pictures you gave me? Where does he work? What does he do? Who is his boss? When and where did you first meet? Etc., etc. I would like to point out that there have been people who have posted on VJ that said the Consulate in Lima prefers to see the petitioner at the interview, but it wasn't so for our case. I'm glad because the tickets were expensive since it's around the same ti... read complete review

DONE, PERFECT AND VISA APPROVED..!!!
This is are datails of what happened this morning..we got there at 8am for our 8:45am appointment but the consulate was overruned with many US visa seekers..we got approved by 12:30pm after the regular documents check and normal questionning by officers and clerical employees..
In our case ..there were two specific questions.. what type of work petitioner was doing which was reflected in my Income Tax and because we got religiously married a year ago.. the asked if both of us were of the same church denomination.

After that the interviewer was very much interested in knowing on how we meet, if our family was ok with the relationship...and at the end..the officer explained about domestic violence, which in US is very different than in any other country and blah ..blah..blahhh...

my advise to future applicants are.. get at least an hour early of your interview, be ready with the documents they ask.. and... read complete review

Hey there,

I had my visa interview today and it went amazing! It only took me 2 hours so I didn't have to wait a lot.

My fiance wasn't able to attend the interview which made me a little sad and nervous at the beginning but I knew I was ready and had enough evidence to show our relationship was real. javascript:emoticon('')

- My interview was scheduled at 7:45 and I went in through security at 7:20. After I left my cell phone I headed for the Immigrant/Non Immigrant Visa waiting room and gave my interview letter to the lady at the first door.
I was the first person in the room which made me so excited because after all this process I wanted to have the interview more than anything else.
The lady from window 11 called me like 2 minutes after I got there, asked me for my passport, pictures and form DS-160 and gave me a green form to go to pay the $265.00 fee.
After paying I went back to the waiting roo... read complete review

Hi everyone,

We had our interview yesterday and it went really well. Everyone was very friendly but it took over 4 hours so be prepared to wait. A few things seem to have changed since others went in for their interview:

- First go to the front of the line and tell them you're there for an Immigrant Visa, they'll have you go straight in through security

- In Security you'll need to leave your cell phones and any other electronics. Also any liquids will need to be poured out.

- Then you'll head to the back for the Immigrant / Non Immigrant Visa waiting room. There are some benches where you sit and about 15 windows. Numbers 1-7 are for non-immigrant visas and 8-15 are for the immigrant visas.

- Give your interview paper to the lady at the door and she'll then hand that in to get you in line. There's another metal detector and bag check here.

- We were then called up rather quickly to turn in th... read complete review
