It was an interesting affair. I will try and be as clear as possible with my report, I hope someone finds it helpful (I found a lot of helpful info here).
My journey from this end began when my fiance received notification of our NOA@ and then again from NVC stating our files had been forwarded to the embassy. The embassy then sent him the Pack IV which he forwarded to me. IN it where the following forms;
1. Applicant’s Statement
2. Form DS-230, Part I, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Biographic Data
3. Form DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application (two)
4. Form DS-156K Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application
5. Immigrant Visa Supplemental Information Sheet
6. Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support and Instructions)
7. Instructions for the Medical Examination
The instruction was to fill out the first part (Part I) of the DS230 form and also the Applican't statement form, and th... read complete review

BEFORE THE INTERVIEW (I am the beneficiary):
- Once my fiance got the case number from the NVC, I emailed the Consulate to see if my documents were there.
- They answered they had received them and emailed Packet 3 to my fiance. My fiance didn't get it.
- I emailed the Consulate again to let them know we hadn't received Packet 3.
- It turned out the reason why my fiance hadn't got anything was that there was a typo in the email address they used. They emailed Packet 3 to me, this time I got it.
- I followed the instructions in Packet 3. Faxed in the DS-230 Part 1 and Applicant Statement.
- They sent me a notice of receipt via email, with the instructions on how to fix an appointment (I assume this email was Packet 4).
- I fixed my appointment by calling the Visa Information Service, as instructed.
- Brought everything they require to the interview (including the original DS-230 Part 1 and Applicant Statement).

Per my husband, his first experience at the consulate was not a great one. He claimed that the person interviewing him seemed to be in a bad mood and was a bit condisending. However, he said that everyone else was very nice at both the embassy and the clinic.
Upon the second interview, three (3) weeks later, I went. Everyone seemed very nice, polite, and in a great mood. I would definitely recommend to be prepared to be there a while. We were the last couple interviewed after 5 hours. In order to expodite your time at the consulate make sure to be prepared. Know where your papers are, what they are and if you're not sure if you need something, bring it anyways. It never hurts to be too prepared. (It definitely isn't fun getting a denial for missing a paper.) The interviews were fast and straight to the point I believe we were in the window no more than 2 minutes.
Also, if you are approved, you do not recieve your visa the same day. You have to pick up y... read complete review

I had my interview on Tuesday Oct 30th and everything went rather smooth. The reviews on this page helped me a lot getting ready for this experience!
I arrived in Naples on Sunday and I stayed at the B&B Casa Mira which is 2 minutes walk from the Consulate, it's close to the Mail Boxes Etc. location (where you will go pick up your passport and visa, or where you get them shipped out), and it's 2 minutes walk from the subway station Mergellina. At the B&B they are very nice people and they actually give you a ride to the Istituto Varelli the day of the visit (it's included in the price!).
On Monday I arrived at the Istituto Varelli around 7.45 and there weren't a lot of people there for the Consulate. Just three couples, a man, a guy and me, so it was kinda quick. I had blood test (I thought it supposed to be for checking on HIV or tubercolosis, but the nurse told me it is done to check if you ever had siphilis...),then I was called again for them to chec... read complete review

The interview takes place in the morning. We arrived 30 minutes early and were 20th in line!
We spent about 4 hours there. All our paperwork was in order so we were instructed, as was everyone else, to go to the local Mailboxes Etc. at 5pm to pick up the passport (if it is finished). All of the K1 visas were late so we had to pay 25 euros to have it shipped to our place in Milan. They give you the option of returning the next day (and every day after that..) at 5pm but there is no guarantee when it will be ready.
The visa was delivered one week (5 business days) later.
Some advice: Arrive one full hour earlier than they tell you. It will save you 2+ hours of waiting in the end. And, don't panic (like we did!) if your K1 visa is not ready for you the same day.
We were very disheartened when we found out the visa had not been processed (especially because all the other people there had been approved!). It was some comfort to di... read complete review
