I was there for the interview - which I think helped a lot. The person interviewed at the window my husband was called to was there alone, and he was questioned for like 15-20 minutes. My husband's lasted 5 minutes.

We arrived at 7:15 a.m. Lined up at 7:30 a.m. for review of passports, interview letters, security, and sorted to stand in lines depending on what type of visa we were there for. Once past the x-ray machine, we were told to sit in the waiting area and wait. Names are called over an intercom. My husband got called first. I went him to the window, but the Indian gentleman at that window spoke only to my husband and not me (though he did ask my husband who the petitioner was and if I was here). He told us to go pay the demand draft at the cashier's window, get a receipt and bring it back - which we did.

We then waited. Shortly my husband got called to window 16 (which I was worried about given that it seemed like the 2 people who were i... read complete review

We did get approved for Visa. Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However very disapointed with type of questioning my Fiancee had to go through.
Questions borderlined on being racist and awkward.

Example I am from a different state in india then my fiancee and she was asked What her Race was, What mine was and why is she getting married to someone from different state?

2nd Question although I have a problem with I do understand their point of view so can accept it with some reservations.

Since this is my 2nd attemp at getting married and hers First, and I do have a child, she was asked why does she want to marry someone with kid when she can marry elsewhere. If you read between the lines she implied it must be my fault that my previous marriage ended even though the court found that my Ex had mental issues.

The intervier was a local person shabbily dressed sitting with her legs on chair. Hair was not done / looked liked... read complete review

My fiance had her K-1 visa interview yesterday. She said the consular officer was predetermined to deny her application, she heard him talking to others saying "this one is going to have to do it all over again". He would not let her get a word in, and made fun of the fact that I hadn't visited in 8 months, implying that I wasn't serious. He also asked why she responded to my profile on a website, implying that she was just looking for a USC, and that her intentions were fradulent. Then he pointed at the "wedding" pictures, which we clearly stated in a cover letter were not from a marriage legally recognized in India (see my other posts for more details on this) and that we only provided to show proof of a valid relationship. He said it constituted a marriage and told her to have me come back to India, marry again (properly this time), and reapply for a K3 visa! He did not seem to understand that we couldn't apply for the K-3 because the original marriage was not registered. ... read complete review

I had my interview scheduled for 7:30 this morning. So I duly reported to the VFS at 7:00, as instructed and 15 minutes later was taken by their shuttle to the consulate. At the consulate we had to go through security for which we had to empty are pockets, remove our belts and walk through the metal detector. Once through security they handed all my documents back to me in a big heap (they go through them to make sure that there isn't anything subversive like a stapler or glue stick hidden in their midst), on top of which were precariously balanced all the contents of my pockets, and my belt. I was then asked to waddle over (you have to waddle because at this point your pants are threatening to slide down to your ankles since your belt is lying uselessly on top of all your documents and pocket change) to the line for fingerprinting. While standing in that line, and with all my documents cradled in my arms, I had to stuff all the stuff that was originally in my pockets back in ther... read complete review
