Review Topic: K3 Visa

I was there for the interview - which I think helped a lot. The person interviewed at the window my husband was called to was there alone, and he was questioned for like 15-20 minutes. My husband's lasted 5 minutes.

We arrived at 7:15 a.m. Lined up at 7:30 a.m. for review of passports, interview letters, security, and sorted to stand in lines depending on what type of visa we were there for. Once past the x-ray machine, we were told to sit in the waiting area and wait. Names are called over an intercom. My husband got called first. I went him to the window, but the Indian gentleman at that window spoke only to my husband and not me (though he did ask my husband who the petitioner was and if I was here). He told us to go pay the demand draft at the cashier's window, get a receipt and bring it back - which we did.

We then waited. Shortly my husband got called to window 16 (which I was worried about given that it seemed like the 2 people who were interviewed at that window were questioned for quite a long time, and it was difficult to tell from their expressions as they left whether they were happy or not). Anyhow, I walked up with my husband. The American Consular Officer asked if I was the petitioner. I said "yes". She asked me if I lived in India or was there for the interview. I told her I was there for the interview. She then thanked me for coming and told me that she would interview my husband alone and I could have a seat and wait. So I did. I waited for 5 tense minutes - waiting for my husband to come into view as he walked away from the window and I saw the huge smile and sign of relief on his face. We were so happy!

It was pretty easy, but we had submitted everything and the kitchen sink to VFS, and we brought everything else that VFS wouldn't take (all emails, all photos, all phone bills, all other evidence). They didn't look at any of it. They had already made a decision before the interview since we had submitted everything on time. So do the work beforehand!!
