Our K-1 visa interview was on April 25th, 2011. We arrived at 7am and waited in the 'residency' line. We were the first to go into the embassy. They had everyone go up to the window to check-in. Then they called everyone up by number to take ink prints. We waited our turn to be called up again. They called up my fiancee and asked some basic questions: Who was his fiance? How did we meet? How long was I in the country for? Who did I work for (while living in Honduras)? When was our wedding date? They took our documents at that point and told him to sit down. I had way more documentation they we needed, so they only took the documents they wanted. About 10-15 minutes later we were called into a private room where they took digital prints. They told us our packet was put together well & they liked our wedding invite. The lady said the purpose of the meeting was to verify that we had a real relationship, which we did. Then asked my fiancee if he was ready to go the States. ... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for February 28. This was our journey......
Two weeks before our interview, my husband and I went to do the medicals exam with Dr. Fernando Tome en Clinicas Medicas, Tegucigalpa. There are only 3 doctors in tegus that are allow to do these exams, so you just enter the Honduras Embassy Web and there you look for their addresses and phone numbers. Since I had my child vaccunes papers, I spend 5,000 lps in total including, xrays, blood exams, Aids exam, and the physical exam that the doctor personally do it. We stayed at the Hotel Plaza Libertador which is a comfy, nice hotel, 75$ a night. This hotel is 5 minutes in cab to the embassy. In Tegus, there are cheaper hotels near the embassy (like Granada Hotel), but due that my husband is paranoic with Tegus insecurity and been a disorder city, we stayed there.
Our interview was scheduled at 7:30 am. We arrive at 6:45 am. We were like the third ones in the line. Make sure, to ask the g... read complete review

Everybody's appointment in the Tegucigalpa Consulate are at 7:30am. Most people show up way before that time, normally between 5:00-7:00am. We got there at 6:30ish or so and there was a long line for Immigrant visas and an even longer line for non-immigrant visas. Make sure you ask the guards which is your line and ask the people in the line what they are there for. My husband asked guard1 which line was for IV and said line A. I got there 10 min later and asked gurard1 the same question and he said line B. We finally asked people in line B what they were there for and they said regular visa, so we switched. At about 7:00am you go through security. The female guards are not pleasant. Of course these people don't get paid well enough to deal with the public. After security you get a number from a lady after you show her your appointment email. You sit down inside according to this number. Then a Honduran lady (one of 3) asks to see your passport and your number. She checks off her list ... read complete review

Our appointment was 1/13/10 @7:30am. Once inside the embassy you wait to be called not in the order you arrived but in order of a list they have. We arrived @ 5am (we didn't want to be the last to enter) and left the embassy @ 2pm. We were approved thank God, but out of the 30 Immigrigant cases only 5 were approved. I advise everyone to take as much proof of your relationship as possible, and to make sure you have everything(including copies of originals)they are asking. Also its best to take proof that you are planning the wedding (dress/engagement ring/wedding band). You are fist called to give all paperwork then told to pay the interview fee then called to pre-interview you and if you are missing something they will let you know.
The Lady that took our papers and pre-interviewed us asked:
When/Where/How we met
Further explain how we met
How many times I had traveled to see him
If my fiance had ever been in the US
Then we were called... read complete review

Interview was quite easy. My fiance had never received the packet stating the date of his interview. I randomly checked the embassy website only to find his case number listed with an interview date ten days later. After massive amounts of panicking, I bought airline tickets, got info together and headed to the appointment. I confirmed the date with the embassy over email and printed that sheet out, just in case. Our appointment was for 7:30am. We arrived at the embassy at 6:30am and were let in at 7am. We got in line and a woman took our papers. We then waited about 20 minutes and my fiance got his fingerprints taken. We then sat back down and waited about an hour and the woman called us up to review our papers. She asked my fiance when we met, when we started dating, and how we communicated (in Spanish, obviously). She then told us to sit down and wait for the interviewer to call us. We waited about 30 minutes and were called in. The woman who interviewed us was very nic... read complete review
