Our appointment was 1/13/10 @7:30am. Once inside the embassy you wait to be called not in the order you arrived but in order of a list they have. We arrived @ 5am (we didn't want to be the last to enter) and left the embassy @ 2pm. We were approved thank God, but out of the 30 Immigrigant cases only 5 were approved. I advise everyone to take as much proof of your relationship as possible, and to make sure you have everything(including copies of originals)they are asking. Also its best to take proof that you are planning the wedding (dress/engagement ring/wedding band). You are fist called to give all paperwork then told to pay the interview fee then called to pre-interview you and if you are missing something they will let you know.
The Lady that took our papers and pre-interviewed us asked:
When/Where/How we met
Further explain how we met
How many times I had traveled to see him
If my fiance had ever been in the US
Then we were called to have my fiance take his fingerprints.
Then we were one of the last to be called for the interview by the counsel officer & the interview took maybe 5-10 min in which he asked over 15 questions and this is what I can remember that he asked:
Do we talk in english or spanish
Explain how we met
Name of person who introduced us
Where that person lived
Do I know how to cook
Where I lived
Did I live alone or with someone
My daughters name
Where we took the pictures we presented
The date we took the pictures
Who certain person in the picture was
Who's paying for the wedding
What we had prepared for the wedding
All of this was asked to both of us but I knew it was best to let my fiance answer I only answered when necessary or further explained the answers my fiance gave.
He tells you right there if your visa is approved. He told us we were approved and come back tomorrow @ 4pm and pickup the visa. The next day we were there and they said that they were not able to print the visa and come back Tuesday and maybe it would be ready. There were people who had been there 3 or more times trying to pickup there passports and visas and they were told various times that they were not ready. Thank God my fiance visa was in fact ready on Tuesday. God is good and we are gratefull we were approved. God Bless.
