Our interview for the K1 Visa was pretty much as described in the previous consulate reviews. I have our timeline below for reference. All in all it was pretty quick. Our interview was very simple. My fiancée was only asked the questions below. I was not asked to take the phone at all even though I was present and visible.
The one thing I will note is that the presence of the petitioner did not seem to be nearly as significant a fact on our day as has been reported for some other days. Of the first applicants to arrive, three (including my fiancée) were accompanied by the petitioner and four were not. Two of the accompanied applicants were approved and all of the unaccompanied applicants were approved. The unaccompanied applicants did not seem to receive any more thorough of questioning than the accompanied applicants. I still think it is a good idea for the petitioner to attend the interview if possible, but it does not seem to me that a petitioner should go ... read complete review

Janeth and I arrived at the embassy around 6:30 AM. There were a few lines formed outside, each in front of a numbered sign – since we were a K1 visa, we got into line number 3. When we got to the front, Janeth's documentation was checked (passport, and I believe they asked for the DS-156 as well but I don't recall 100%) and we were sent inside and through a metal detector, and then into the main waiting area. This area is very large and mostly uncovered, but there are several covered waiting areas with chairs. I recommend bringing an umbrella, but you'll be covered most of the time.
We were sent to a sign labeled with the number 40, when you enter it's on the left and all the way in the back. There, the promotora gave us a big folder labelled K which included instructions on how to organize the paperwork being asked of us. One of the supposed requirements is a letter declaring the applicant is single, basically an updated version of the intent to marry letter se... read complete review

Arrived at Embassy at 5:40am about 3 people in line. Your'e lined up on the street now away from the area with the numbered signs. At 6am a Colombian Police Officer lets you pass towards the signs. Went to Line 3, was again 3rd in line. About 6:15 DOMESA handed out forms to fill out, 10 minutes later we were allowed in. Headed to window 40 for instructions on how to place from in file. File handed back to embassy employee within 5 minutes. There were about 70 people there in the family area by the restrooms. maybe 12 were K-1's. 20 minutes later about 7:30 fiancee called to window 31. 1- minutes of general questioning. Children of petitioners were told to sit down. After questions anoter turn in the seat. Anout 30 minutes later fiancee called to window for fingerprints. Another turn in the seat. 30 minutes later Fiancee called to windows near window 40 which is 1-10. 10 minutes of general questions only to fiancee. Visa approved. Out the door by 10:00am. Fiancee said interviewers were ... read complete review

Yasira and I arrived at the Embassy at around 6.45 for her 7.00 interview, which I thought was a bit late and there was a lonnng line but once they determined we were there for the K1, we went to line 3 and were 2nd in line. After entering, we went to a desk where the young lady gae instructions on assembling the documents....went to sit down and put all in order and returned them to that desk. The 45 minute or so wait gave us time to grab something to eat at the small coffee shop. Yasira´s name was called and we went to the window where the lady there basically just made sure all the papers were in order, only asking Yasira where we met. We sat back down for maybe 10 minutes, and of course the next time her name was called, Yasira had gone to the bathroom and I didn´t fully hear the window number but thought it was ¨dos¨ and i guessed correctly. There they did her fingerprints which I took as a good sign but didn´t get overly confident. Within maybe 30 minutes, they called ... read complete review
