Bogota, Colombia | Review on August 8, 2011: | K&M F&E
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
Our interview for the K1 Visa was pretty much as described in the previous consulate reviews. I have our timeline below for reference. All in all it was pretty quick. Our interview was very simple. My fiancée was only asked the questions below. I was not asked to take the phone at all even though I was present and visible.
The one thing I will note is that the presence of the petitioner did not seem to be nearly as significant a fact on our day as has been reported for some other days. Of the first applicants to arrive, three (including my fiancée) were accompanied by the petitioner and four were not. Two of the accompanied applicants were approved and all of the unaccompanied applicants were approved. The unaccompanied applicants did not seem to receive any more thorough of questioning than the accompanied applicants. I still think it is a good idea for the petitioner to attend the interview if possible, but it does not seem to me that a petitioner should go out of their way to do so if attendance is for some reason a problem.
These were the questions during the interview:
Is that your fiance?
When and how did you meet your fiance?
How many times has he visited you?
When did he visit you most recently?
This was our timeline for the day:
6:30 AM: Arrive at embassy, line 3
7:30 AM: Receive folder for documents and return to window 40
8:00 AM: Fiancée answers basic questions and has documents reviewed at window 7
8:45 AM: Digital fingerprints taken at window 2
10:30 AM: Interview, approval, pay Domesa
