I arrived at the Sydney Consulate reception on level 10 at 8.50am for my 9.00am appointment. I went through security and was taken up to the 59th floor fairly quickly. I took a number and sat in the waiting area, and after 20 minutes I was called up to the window and was asked to hand over all the documents I was requested to bring.

I had not been required to send anything in previously, as the packet 3 instructions stated that I was to bring all my documents on the day of my appointment. This included my passport, the DSL-1076 checklist, MRV fee receipt, DS-160 confirmation page, passport-type photograph, letters of intent to marry, birth certificate, police certificate (I had not received my police certificate by the date of my appointment and was told I could send this in once I had received it), and the I-134 and evidence. I was then asked to wait again while those documents were checked, copied and added to the file.

After waiting approximately ano... read complete review

Firstly if you're like me and from the country, don't be too overwhelmed by Sydney. I had to ask around on the forums here as to what to expect but you can really 'miss' the MLC building. It's also only a small walk from Martin Place if you want somewhere to wander to stretch your legs.

My day for the interview began at 3:00am. Being from a rural town, 2 hours (drive) from Sydney I had to be up early to catch the train in. My dad accompanied me for the day so we caught the train at 4:10am. We arrived in central at 7:20am. My interview wasn't until 10:45am but the second train into Sydney was too late and driving there is only for the experienced. :P

We killed time until around 9:30am where we wandered up to the Lobby of the MLC centre (Which is actually level 8). We sat until about 10:10am then took the lifts up, followed the signs and left dad at the waiting area as I passed through security. FYI, if someone comes with you, left them stay at the lobby, th... read complete review

After reading some reviews on this website I knew what to look for, however the interview was NOT without complication.
Arrived early (7.30am) for 8am interview.
Headed up lift just after 8am after dropping off bag to security
Only had to wait around 15-30 minutes before being called up by number.
Handed documents over and the girl handed my original documents back. She had to make more copies of some of the documents as they were apparently missing, even though I sent them ALL in Packet 3 My advice is to take extra copies of all civil documents in case they screw up and lose some (which they seem to do regularly)
Then I sat back down and girl seemed to take an eternity before handing file over to person doing interview.
Girl was in her 30s and stoned face. Asked me a million questions about my marriage, where I was married, when, who my wife's parents were, what am I going to do in the US etc.
Then we hit a snag around the I-864 as ther... read complete review

My appointment was at 9:30 am but arrived at 8:30 am as requested on letter. When i got at security they didn't have me on the list of approved visitors for the day. I panicked a tad for a moment but I showed them my letter, and they eventually added me in. I had to check out at hotel that morning so i had to leave my belongings there on 10th floor, that wasn't a big deal. I did have a water bottle with me, she told me i could keep it if I drank out of it first. She said if you are still standing after you can keep it lol

So anyway, got there, took a ticket, got called to a window. i guess they did have me for interview for that day because she had my file nearby. Provided them with my passport, took fingerprints and was told to go sit back. I was also given all my original documents back (birth certificate, police checks etc)

I waited until about 9:30am, then I got called to another window for interview. That went pretty good.

I was asked:... read complete review

I had a great experience for my interview on the 11th Feb. I arrived at 7.20am and asked reception where to go. He told me to wait until 7.45 before I go up to security on level 10. He also told me that lifts open at 7.30am...so of course I go up then haha. I had to sit outside the locked security door until they opened. Only 1 other person was there. As soon as they opened the door I went in, I ended up being first as the other girl didn't seem in a hurry. I handed over my belongings, keeping my documents etc, and they gave me my wallet. I was allowed to take bottled water, had to take a sip as others have mentioned. All very friendly...took maybe 5 minutes. I had to go through my bag to find some earphones...they ask you to hand over all electronic equipment and I didn't realise they were in my bag. Then up the lift to the consulate room. You walk in, take a ticket, then sit and wait. There were maybe 5 other people after me. My number got called up after about 5 minutes, I went to t... read complete review
