Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I (UK spouse) was adjusting from K-1 to CR1 after several months in "authorized stay" limbo. We had to reschedule once because my husband had a work conflict - I wrote to the USCIS office explaining this and gave a list of dates that we could do and received a fairly prompt reply that this was fine and a new date was given - June 02 at 10:30.

We arrived around 10:00 in business casual dress. It was fairly busy and took about 20 mins to get through security. Once through, we went to the interview line (empty!) and a lady checked our IDs and AOS appointment letter. We were told to drop the letter into the box at window 2 in the "Information Area" (laid out with embassy-style interview/waiting room). We sat for about 15 mins before the ISO called my name and took us to a private office to conduct our interview. Well, I say interview: he didn't really ask either of us any questions that required us to formulate an answer!

We confirmed our names, our home addre... read complete review

Adjusting status from K1 interview

The office is in Santa Clara, CA (still part of San Jose) to avoid any confusion!
Our appointment was this morning at 9:35am, my husband and I arrived at 8:50am.
Everyone very friendly, security and front desk, etc. were very nice and joking with us about our large amount of proof haha.

We waited and were called around 9:40am by a nice woman. She was very friendly. We had two bags full of our evidence and things (lol, I scrapbook a lot and wanted to be over prepared).
We entered the interview room, she had us stand and raise our right hand for oath to tell the truth.
She went over a few things on my AOS application, name, address, phone number, my parents names and then went through the checklist at the end again. She had me sign the application again that all statements were true today. She also asked if I had left the country since my entry on the K1 and I have not.

Then really... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I arrived about 15 min earlier and we were called for our interview right on time
The officer was very nice with us. Didn't make us feel nervours or anything. Simple question tu us. Basically went over our forms and didn't ask to see anything else.
He asked just the expected : when did we meet? how ? Does he know my parents? Where I was born ? He asked my husband if he knew my phone number and he didn't know lol
But not a big deal. Good experience and very happy that the office was on time.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

This office is actually in Santa Clara, no longer at Monterey Rd in San Jose.

We got there 2 hours earlier (we live an hour 20 min away and was told to go early to avoid traffic), guards were nice (I recommend wearing tennis or shoes with socks and not pumps or any other open shoe to avoid being barefoot there when going through the metal detector), receptionist was mean to someone before me so I was intimidated but she even paid a compliment to me! You never know with some people. Anyway, after checking in, left my paper in the bin, we waited 2 and a half hours. I recommend going to a nearby coffee shop and get there like half an hour before your appointment to avoid waiting like me. Not that many people waiting but towards 10am more people coming in.
My representative was looking to the interviewers and saying "I hope we get her, she's nice" "that one is also great" "that's my friend" so I felt very comfortable and surprise! I didn't get any of them, got a very... read complete review
