Jay and I had our AOS interview yesterday morning at the Norfolk Office (leave all electronics devices, cell phones, etc in your car). Keep your keys with you, cuz you may need them later...
The interview was scheduled for 10 AM. We arrived around 9:30, passed through security, placed the appointment letter in the box and sat down to read and wait. Shortly after 10, our officer (cannot remember his name now) led us back to his desk. The interview started with both of us swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
We were asked the date and place of marriage, the date I entered the US and how many times I had entered the US before using my K1. That took us a while because between 2 legal stays while I was younger and the numerous times I've visited to go skiing, see my mother and Jay... well it took a few minutes, but we finally got all the dates down ( could have sworn that I submitted all that info with the I485, but so it goes ... read complete review

We just had our AOS interview in Norfolk, VA this morning. The letter said 8:30, which is exactly when that office opens, but in fact we were admitted at about 10 minutes to 8! The lady was nice and not intimidating, she asked us the usual questions about criminal history etc... We had to show her some W2's that weren't in her file for some reason (good thing we had copies) and also my tax return from this past year. She asked us how we met, and my wife told her our story. Our one problem was that we didn't have sufficient proof that we live together. We live with my parents, so we don't have a lease, utility bills, etc. Also, we don't have any credit cards, health/life insurance, etc. Our car is in my name only, and our joint bank account is not sufficient proof, she said.
Soooo, she sent us off to get three notarized affidavits from friends, testifying to our living together, AND we still have to get some other proof of domicile. We're hoping to get something from our school, ... read complete review

I had my interview yesterday and got approved :star:
Of course, on days you need to be somewhere at a specific time and it's pretty important you make it there, guess what, traffic is horrific. roadwork and a stranded vehicle on I-264. Great. I was already paniking, we'd never make it in time.
We had been scheduled for 11:15, arrived at 11:00 and barely got to sit down in the waiting area, when Officer Jones called us up. Wow... I've never been called up before the actual scheduled time ANYWHERE.
She led us into her office just by a huge copying machine and made us swear that we'd say the truth in this interview. My husband is in the Navy, so for the next five minutes she asked him about how he likes it and whether he had been to Iraq yet.
Then she went through the whole I-485 list... whether I was going to overthrow the US government or train terrorists (in what? knitting?). Noooooooo... none of the above.

Ever since Norfolk went under the INFOPASS system, it seems to be much less chaotic once you get inside......however!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a line outside to get in...it's kinda silly, specially when it's cold out.
At any rate...
Steve had his AOS interview yesterday. We were called in ON TIME for our interview (how freaky is that). We were interviewed by Agent Carter. She was actually very personable. She walked us back to her office (they have pretty big offices btw). The first thing I noticed is that she has a wall of Barbie dolls. I remarked on them, saying that I used to collect Barbie's and the only one that I still had was Indian Barbie - and she said that she's been trying to find Indian Barbie on EBAY. (Immediately I start thinking - hmm should I bribe her and offer her the doll so we can get approved hehe, but I didn't! Steve told me later he was thinking the same thing, I'm sure she was too, wanting my Barbie doll).
She... read complete review
