Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The interview was on 8/23/2012. First I asked if it was a conflict of interest to speak/translate for my wife because she is not yet fluent in english. We brought an interpreter just in case but he said it was okay if I spoke for her. We were then sworn in. It went pretty smooth, the interviewer asked me, the petitioner more questions than he asked of my wife Francys. The interveiwer was all business from beginning to end which was fine, just doing his job, although we were both a little uncomfortable with his serious demeanor. Questions for my wife: What is your address? Did her family attend the wedding? Were you married before? Do you have kids? That was it for her. Questions he asked me: What is the name of your ex wife? When was your divorce final? When was your last trip to Colombia? When was your first trip to Colombia? When did you meet face to face? How did you meet your wife? When did you consider yourselves a couple? What day did you get married? Was you... read complete review

We arrived 15 minutes early to our interview, and everyone was very professional and polite to us. We had about a 40 minute waiting time, which was a bit nerve wrecking, but there were a lot of other people waiting to be seen, as well. Everything about the experience was favorable except for the officer who conducted our interview. Officer Santos was incredibly rude and would visibly disapprove of every answer we gave him. He would roll his eyes whenever we would answer his questions, and his overall attitude towards us was very rude an unpleasant. He treated us like criminals and made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. He made this experience far more unpleasant than it should have been, and he never even shook our hands once. After telling us our case was approved (to our great surprise) he simply said: "It's over, you can go now." Without even looking us in the eye or showing us the way out.
He mocked our answers and even our relationship when he told us that he didn't know h... read complete review

Today my boyfriend had his appointment at the CIS office in Chula Vista we arrived about 15 minutes before the appointment and where seen interviewed by an Officer named Cielito Santos that was extremely rude rolled his eyes durring the interview made a lot of facial gestures both my boyfriends father and him do not speak much english. I went along for the translation the official told me that I do not need to be there i responded that there are certain things in english tht will need translation for and that in the letter my boyfriend had recieved it said to bring a translator if needed. Appointment was at 7:25 Am at the chula vista office june 11 2011. Hubby and i with lawyer arrived at 7 am. We walked through the medal detector. We turned in our appoint letter and waited to be called. The officer was a well dressed hispanic lady, very professional. She sworn us in. She asked for our birth certificate, ID, marriage license. She wanted the originals. She asked my hubby for his full name, date of birth. She asked for mine, address, the questions on the I-485, when and how we met, did i ever meet his family, how long has my husband been in the Navy, to list the places we've been to for vacation. She said i was Approved and i will be receiving my 10 year green card in a month.. This has been a very long process for me 2.5 years and I'm so happy it's over. The interview lasted for only 10 minutes

Review Topic: General Review

I had my biometrics done today at Chula Vista, CA ASC office. As many others, I did not have very high expectations in terms of GREAT customer service, as government institution tend to have a pretty bad reputation - rude attitude, inconsidered people, crowded space..and so on and on... BUT I was pleasentely surprised!!

Appointment was for 1pm, and I've arrived around 1:05pm. The guard gace me the form to fill out, check the ID and issued the number. I set down with ours and waited for about 20 min reading a magazine until my number was called. There were about 10 people ahead of me, and 4 workers handled actual fingerprinting so the line moved pretty fast. The lady that did my prints was really pleasant and friedly. She reviewed the sheet I filled out and the ID info verifying my address, height, and weight, and making jokes like - "Let's see, is your hair really blonde? Okay. Color of the eyes? Let me see closer, we cannot make a mistake!" or "I need ... read complete review
