Today (Dec. 11, 2017) was my fiance's interview at the U.S. embassy in Caracas for the K1 visa. His interview was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and he arrived there around 7:45 a.m. His first interview was with a Venezuelan woman who worked at the embassy and was conducted in Spanish. He said she asked him basic questions such as my name, where I lived, my phone number, and stuff like that. She also started to ask him about his previous stays in the U.S. and was giving him a bit of a hard time about that since during one of those stays he was here 7 and a half months due to a previous application he had for a U.S. student visa however it was not considered an "overstay" because he had that pending application with the government. She finished up with him and he told me he waited about an hour and a half and he had a second interview this time with an American woman. She asked him more detailed questions about how we met, when I have gone to visit him, about my previous marriage, why did my ... read complete review

Here Experience with the Venezuelan Embassy was not positive at all.
Before I even get to the interview here is my experience with some correspondence before the interview.
1. Received my NVC approval letter stating that the Caracas Embassy will contact me/fiancee with an available appointment time. I waited weeks for that. No effort was ever made on their part. I finally found information online that stated they wouldn't. This misleading information probably cost me 4 to 6 weeks. I sent emails and never received any nonautomated replies back from the embassy. I did receive an acknowledgment email with broken links to information that was no longer there.
2. I finally was able to sign up but there were no appointments available. I called NVC and a customer service rep told me told I should check the website every day and look for an appointment. So I did for 1 month and finally, I was able to get an appointment almost 2 months from that ... read complete review

Our experience in the Embassy was good. My fiance's interview was at 8am. Due to the ongoing protests, we decided to arrive at 6:30am. They have lockers available which you can stow away your electronic devices which are not allowed in the embassy. We passed the first checkpoint, where you are asked to make sure to not bring in any electronic devices. We then passed the next checkpoint where we went through the metal detectors and search of our belongings. Once we informed the person we were there for an inmigrant visa interview he directed us to grab a ticket number and be seated until our number is called. We were called by a Venezuelan young woman who proceeded to ask my fiancé for his documentation (birth certificate, passport, divorce certificate, medical records. Proof of visa payment, etc) She then asked me to sit down while she asked him the following questions (how did we meet, how many times we've seen each other, when did he propose, what we both do for a living). Once my... read complete review
