Our experience in the Embassy was good. My fiance's interview was at 8am. Due to the ongoing protests, we decided to arrive at 6:30am. They have lockers available which you can stow away your electronic devices which are not allowed in the embassy. We passed the first checkpoint, where you are asked to make sure to not bring in any electronic devices. We then passed the next checkpoint where we went through the metal detectors and search of our belongings. Once we informed the person we were there for an inmigrant visa interview he directed us to grab a ticket number and be seated until our number is called. We were called by a Venezuelan young woman who proceeded to ask my fiancé for his documentation (birth certificate, passport, divorce certificate, medical records. Proof of visa payment, etc) She then asked me to sit down while she asked him the following questions (how did we meet, how many times we've seen each other, when did he propose, what we both do for a living). Once my fiancé answered all the questions, she asked him to be seated and wait for the Consulate Interview. At 12pm we were informed the embassy was closing for lunch and would re-open at 1pm. After the lunch break, my fiancé was called around 1:25pm. This was a young American Consulate who spoke Spanish very well. Once she noticed I was there she greeted me with a smile and asked me to sit while she spoke to my fiancé. I sat down and she asked my fiancé the following questions (how did we meet, when our divorces took place, how did he propose and when, what were our wedding plans) Finally she called me back up to the window and tells my fiancé "Congratulations, your visa has been approved" We were very relieved and happy to hear those words! Our interview with her lasted about 5 minutes. Overall the only complaint was the length of time we waited, we were out of there by 1:30pm. Good luck to everyone, this is a long process but well worth the wait!
