we got to the embassy at 6:30am we got in line to get inside, first they checked if we had an appointment with them. we passed thru that and got in line again in a shorter line for K-1 visa then we went thru a security check and go thru another line to get to the office for interview but for residental visa/k-1 they sent us to the last windows(window 14 to 16) where asked to take a number and be seated, it was 7:30am by then. we waited for them to be open, they didn´t started on time. finally at 8:30am we got called to the first window where they take our documents, she only took i-134 form, employer letter and the intent to marry letter. she did not take w-2, tax transcripts or anything eles and asked to go to pay the visa fee. we got back from paying and waited for the interview. we waited for a long time, everyone that came after us has been called and left. we were like the last one there, when we finally got called the consulate apologized he said he had to do some research, we... read complete review

The process at the consulate went very smoothly. We arrived a little later than we planned and the line outside seemed very long, but going through the main gate and to the first staging area went very quickly. After a short speech giving us information, we could go forward to the security checkpoint where they went through our passports and things. Then we moved to a seating area where another official provided information and began dividing the group into sections. Luckily there was a small food stand here where we could buy some pastries and juice and coffee since we hadn't had breakfast!

We were directed to a door on the left up a few stairs since we had a K1 Visa application. (Most people went to the right to a long line for other visas.) Through that door was another security checkpoint where you put your belongings in a bucket that went through an xray machine as you walked though a metal detector. Then out another door to another short line, then one more securit... read complete review

I got to say my experience with the interview was pretty good. Arrived at 6:30am (appointment at 8:30am) and got in a huge line waiting to get in the US Embassy. At 7:30am they opened and gave some brief instructions of what not to bring inside. Passed all the security checkpoint rings. Finally at 8:00am took a number and waited to be called. Later my number came up and I went to a window to give a very nice lady all the document required. She gave me back many of the photos we submitted at the beginning. Also, made the payment required in another window. Then waited to be called again for the interview with another IO. Besides me 4 other females for k1 Visa interview and others waited for other types of visa. Many rejected and others passed. Finally they called me and I went to the window attended by a male IO who reviewed my huge file in a red folder. The only questions he asked me was if I knew if my fiancé had a children (actually a daughter), what old is she and what year she was... read complete review

My fiance had his interview for the K-1 visa today at the Caracas Embassy. We were told it would take up to 6 hours for his approval, however, he arrived at 7:30am and left at 10:00am with an approval in his hand. He had to meet with two different consulates, each asking him for documentation and a variety of questions. He then had to pay the fee, and he requested to expedite the visa, since he already has his ticket to USA for next week. They said that was no problem and he has to return in 2 days to pick it up at the Embassy. All went well and we will be reunited in ONE WEEK!!

Our appoitment was scheduled by 7 am. We arrived at 6.20 am and we did not have to follow the line. We did have an issue with the CD for my lungs pictures because in Caracas they do not allow any CD but they have a little cabine and there they can keep things for only Americans. So, solved that we waited in the patio and were told to wait till the Immigration section was open. We passed the security check there and then we were lead to the Immigration part and inmedialtly we were sent to the interviews section. I grabbed a number and they asked for my name within 15 minutes. The lady (a venezuelan I guess) requested: the forms, the affidavit, taxes 2011, my bday certificate, my divorce decree (no apostille by the way) criminal records and nothing else (no job letter no paytubs) She asked me: when did we meet, how many times we have been together, where have I lived before Curacao, how many years, what was my job, what was his job, whether my ex was venezuelan, where we got divorced. I ... read complete review
