The process was fast! My mom got her interview after all paperwork and all the information provided very fast to USCIS and NVC within exactly the year! Her appointment was on 03/04/15 and was approved the SAME DAY! :D
It took her all day to get thru the line and what not at the Embassy BUT as soon as they saw her they only asked her 3 questions and said OK APPROVED!

My fiancee's Visa appointment was at 7:30AM. We showed up at 6AM and stood in line. Around 6:30AM they started calling people with appointments up to 8:00AM. We walked in to the front of the embassy and they gave us the "schpeel" about what not to bring in. (Nu weapons, Cells, USB, CD,etc..) After about 30 minutes they let in the people with appoints up to 8:45AM... waited in line and they checked to make sure we had an appointment. We sat in the benches outside till they started to let us in through security.
Once inside the embassy there is a line of people waiting to be fingerprinted and they are waiting for their passports to be handed back to them (K1 Visa applicants keep their passports at all times) So when you get inside the embassy and see the line walk ahead to the front and take a number (between windows 10 and 11) Take a seat and they will call they number... you then hand over all the documentation they ask for. Once they have everything they need they will ... read complete review

I wasn't there for the interview, I am writing this based on what my husband told me about it. He said that the main problem was a very long wait, that he was there early for his 8:30 a.m. appointment, but that together with all the other immigrant visa applicants he had to come back after lunchtime in order to have the actual interview. This was difficult for him as he had traveled to Caracas the day before, and was staying in a cheap hotel that wouldn't let him pay more than one night at once. He had to rush back to the hotel at lunch time and pay for another night, so they wouldn't get rid of the stuff like his cell phone that he couldn't take to the embassy. He said that most of the staff and officers treated him well, except one guy when he first got there that tried to make him stand in the line for non-immigrant visas. He knew better, due to my reading of VJ.
He said they didn't really ask him any questions in the interview, except someone who dealt with him befor... read complete review

I tried to give as much details as possible, so the review is a bit long. If you only want to see the interview experience read the last part where it says "ACTUAL INTERVIEW". If you are going to the embassy with the U.S. citizen (petitioner), he/she can park inside the embassy and both of you can skip the first security check together He/she has to be the one driving, though.
We arrived to the embassy around 6:30 AM (The appointment was at 8:00 am, but since all immigrant visas have the same appointment time we decided to get there earlier). We had to do the security line outside of the embassy. Right before the first security check, a lady informed us about prohibited items (electronics, knifes, CDs, etc). There are small lockers at the entrance where you can leave your phone and small objects. Remember that you cannot take dark folders (only transparent ones).
After the first security check, the guards tell everybody to take ... read complete review
