9am interview. Queue took about 20 minutes to get inside the building.
Don't forget to make sure you don't bring electronic items or phones with you as you will NOT be be able to enter with them.
I waited for 1 hour before I was called up. Was asked for my interview letter, 2 photos, my fingerprints taken, and then the documents from the checklist (police certificates etc). I was also given my chest x-ray from my medical to take to the US.
Sat down again and waited another 1.5 hours until I was called again for the final step. Was asked to sign a form and write my fiancé's name in the space. Then asked a few questions about how we met, when we got engaged, where he lives...
Then...APPROVED!
Pretty simple & straightforward. Very friendly staff at each stage.
A LOT of waiting so bring a book!
They DO accept credit card for the payment of the visa, as well as GBP and USD cash, but not personal ch... read complete review

Tom arrived 30 min. before and stood in the line. He waited in the waiting room after he got his number. The pre-screener called him to the window and he handed in all of the paperwork. He then waited another 45 min. until they called him to the window 2 down from the first. The lady was very nice. She asked Tom, where we met? did we date right after we met? do we have any children? a boy or a girl? And that was it--she told him he was approved.....they were all very friendly and helpful!!!

Needed to send the embassy my Wife's W2 after the interview as all we'd given initially was her tax return, which wasn't enough apparently. She said everything was ok other than them needing the W2, and it'd be accepted and sent to us as soon as they received it.

Vik got to the Embassy at 8am for his 8:30am interview. The fist officers computer was not working, so it took over an hour to get Vik's fingerprints done. After that the interview itself was short and sweet. As he was waiting for the machines to work for the fingerprinting, the officer told him to go deposit his passport for processing and pay the courier fees. At the end of the interview Vik asked the officer if he was approved, and he was told that he was but that there were a couple of computer checks that the officer had to do. What happens now? We will wait and see...

Aside from the initial getting started with the consulate as well as the 3 month period where they had our case and didn't tell anyone. The interview was actually the easiest part of the whole process.
My advice to anyone filing in Manama, Bahrain is to stay on top of your paperwork because you will ultimately be responsible for it until you file and await your interview.
