My interview was for 8.00am on 31st July 2009. Fortunately this had coincided with my husband being in the UK for summer shut down so it was great that he could come along. Arrived in good time to get a coffee at Starbucks and then put the electronics into Goulds Pharmacy at 7.30am. Joined the visa queue straight afterwards and had passed through security and we were seated and waiting for our appointment by 7.55am. Our ticket was called at around 08.10am and we were dealt with by a serious lady who went through my paperwork with a fine tooth comb. She picked up on something that hadn't been asked for by USCIS or NVC and that was that I had changed my name by deed poll after my divorce. Neither USCIS or NVC had asked for my change of name deed, but this lady did!!!! Fortunately I had brought the document with me, but had I not done so, it could have affected the outcome - pphheewww!!! Once she had copied this document and answered a few basic questions, we were issued with a pink slip to complete and to await the next stage. We were then called again after about 45 minutes to a cheerful guy who asked - 1.How did we meet? 2. How long was it before we met in person? 2. What sort of work would I hope to do in the USA? And that was it. He then informed us that the visa was approved and to book and pay for the courrier to deliver my passport back to me. The passport arrived today (4th August), didn't even have to wait the 3-5 business days they quoted. Needless to say that it's a huge relief to have this all done and to have done it without the cost of lawyers etc., and that is down 100% to the people that share their information and experiences on this website. Thank you everyone who participates on VJ, we couldn't have done it without you.
