I found this whole experience to be well organized and pleasant. The staff at the embassy are very helpful. I received my Visa within 2 hours from start to finish.
Some tips for the interviewee:
1.Bring your spouse if possible - people were still granted visas without their spouse there but it helps.
2.Bring a pen.
3.Bring copies of all your documents and proof of relationship.
4.Be patient, you will not be interviewed in any particular order.
People were turned away because of missing documents (mainly relating to financial support)so make sure your application is complete.

All went well. One minor stumbling was in security, we didn't realize USB memory sticks were on the banned list. (Nor did we even know she had one in her purse). We tossed them in the bin at security rather then make a trip back to Goulds.
The interview was good except that Pat drew a blank on what internet chat program we met on.

The interview was much less intense than we thought it was going to be. You turn in all your documents to a window and sit back. Then you get called to a different window and they review everything and make the decision there. We got approved and were out of the Embassy in 3 hours. I didn't think that was too bad as I was prepared for a denial and a very long day. We haven't got the medical completed yet so it is approved pending the medical results but they kept the passport and I paid for the courier service!

I had an 8am appointment and so was one of the first to enter the embassy at about 7:45am and was issued the 4th Immigrant number for the day. I was sat in the waiting room for about ah hour before being called up for the pre-interview and submit any additional documents (I didnt have any extra to submit so they just took my passport and interview letter) I was asked a few very basic questions at this time about my documents to make sure they were all there which took about 10/15 mins, and then was sent to sit back down to wait for my interview. The wait time to be seen for my actual interview after that was about an hour and a half, the consulate officer was very nice and asked me a few questions about our relationship and then approved my application and sent me off to pay for the courier to get my passport back. All in all I was in the embassy for about 3 hours total.

My fiance attended his KI Interview on October 21, 2009. He stayed overnight at the Marble Arch Hotel, so he wouldn't have to worry about catching the train to arrive at 7:30am. He arrived at the embassy after dropping his things off at Gould's Pharmacy.
During the security scan, the officer found something metallic that caught his attention. It was one of those Hallmark cards with the music chip in it. Leave that sort of evidence at home!
Ian handed his paperwork to the lady at the counter who ensured everything was there, then handed him a pink slip. While he waited for his number to be called, he paid the courier, which he later realised was a bit out of order.
When his number was called, he went to talk to the CO. Ian informed him that he mistakenly paid the courier already, and verified that was not a problem (he said "no", but you can do it in the opposite order, just to be safe) ... read complete review
