I had my interview at the U.S embassy in London yesterday and wanted to write a review for anyone who has an upcoming interview.

My appointment was at 10am and I got to the embassy for 9:45am. As I approached the embassy, I saw a very long queue going out of the door, I was about to join this queue until I asked a very helpful lady in front of me what the queue was for, she told me that the queue was for US citizens only and directed me to the right place. I walked a little further and saw a lady stood at a desk, I gave her my passport and DS260. She stuck a ticket number on my DS260 and told me to go through security. Before going through security, I was asked to unlock my phone and open any app on my phone.

As noted in previous reviews, the security is like airport-style security. Your bag goes through a scanner and you walk through detectors. I had a bottle of perfume in my bag which was over 30ml and had to throw this away I also ha... read complete review

My fiancé had his interview today and we were approved!! 🥰🥰 the person didn’t say exactly approved but he kept my fiancés passport and said he would receive it shortly after he puts something in it.
They literally asked him 4-5 simple questions. It was a smooth process and we were both overthinking but we had everything ready and they were even joking with my fiancé lol. They had all our evidence from the original packet and seemed overwhelmed after looking at it haha.
Moral of the story is don’t overthink, just have all your documents ready!

Today I had my interview at the Embassy in London!

Appointment was scheduled for 8:30am, I flew down the night before into London City airport and stayed in the Travelodge in Vauxhall, which is about a ten min walk to the embassy.

I left the hotel around 7:45am and arrived at the embassy just before 8am, and followed the building round to where the visa section was.
A lot of people already waiting and queuing up. Got up and asked for my passport and my appointment confirmation page, then directed towards security.

They asked me to open my phone and open any app to prove it was a working phone, then quickly through an airport type security areas.

(Ps the doors are freaking heavy!)

Up to reception where I was told by the first person just skip and go through the US citizen line which I did and was warmly welcomed but told to stand to the side for 4 min as my ticket wasn’t ready. (The lady actua... read complete review

After such a long a stressful process, the interview went really well. It was really straightforward.
My interview was scheduled for Friday 25th March at 08:30am. I travelled to London on the train the day before and stayed overnight at the Park Plaza hotel in Vauxhall. A twenty min walk or 5 min Uber. Absolutely gorgeous hotel with great breakfast!
I set off extra early at 07:45am and took an Uber, I arrived five mins later. I was told I could not go into the building until 08:10am (the lady checking passports and DS260s was lovely, and very friendly about this). She simply told me to come back at 08:10 and come straight back to her and she would let me in.
When 08:10 came I did just that and was asked at the door to open my phone and an app as other posters have explained. When I entered I then went through airport-style security and had to take a sip of my bottled water before entering.
I was told to skip the queue and walk straight up to the reception d... read complete review

Just had my interview today (25/3/22).
It went just as the other reviews had made out. Essentially it was a breeze.
I lined up thirty minutes before time slot and the lady asked me to come back in ten minutes. But then as the line was building up she called me back and said it will be time once I get through anyway.
Security very standard. For anyone who was confused about the no ‘big bag’ rule. I had a standard backpack and that is deemed fine.
Now the reception bit, everyone tells you to not line up and skip everybody. As a british person I found that hard because it’s not obviously sign posted for you so the idea of cutting in line is not in my nature. I eventually went down the US citizen line because it was clear. The woman super nice guided me. First floor left then left.
Upstairs again super easy my number was already at the desk when I arrived so straight to another lady. She copied all civil documents, passport, photos ... read complete review
