After such a long a stressful process, the interview went really well. It was really straightforward.
My interview was scheduled for Friday 25th March at 08:30am. I travelled to London on the train the day before and stayed overnight at the Park Plaza hotel in Vauxhall. A twenty min walk or 5 min Uber. Absolutely gorgeous hotel with great breakfast!
I set off extra early at 07:45am and took an Uber, I arrived five mins later. I was told I could not go into the building until 08:10am (the lady checking passports and DS260s was lovely, and very friendly about this). She simply told me to come back at 08:10 and come straight back to her and she would let me in.
When 08:10 came I did just that and was asked at the door to open my phone and an app as other posters have explained. When I entered I then went through airport-style security and had to take a sip of my bottled water before entering.
I was told to skip the queue and walk straight up to the reception desk - I did this but felt a bit uncomfortable doing it. However, all was fine and the lady on reception was very friendly and gave my directions.
When I arrived at the correct area of the embassy I was the only one there. I was called straight away by number (number sticker is put on your DS260 by reception). She took the following originals from me (no copies we requested): My birth certificate, our marriage certificate, my passport, my police certificate.
I then sat back down and waited 15 mins before being called up to speak to a very friendly gentleman. He asked me how long we had been married and then approved us! So simple and a really positive experience. Embassy staff were all lovely and helpful.
I then spent a glorious day in te sunshine being a tourist around London, before getting the train back home.
