Scheduled for interview Feb 21, then received email 2 days prior cancelling it saying that due to unforseen circumstances with embassy construction or security, your interview has been rescheduled to March 13, 2007. More delays by Grand old USA government. Interview was piece of cake, she got to be let in early since she was K1(so the man outside told her), waited about hour or so then went to window gave documents then waited another hour and then man in room interviewed her, only asked two questions - "How we met" and "when do you plan to leave after you get K1". Then he told her to go to courier and pay for service and he took her passport and papers. She is fluent in English so she interviewed in English, and applied in English so it went fast. She asked them is that all, and man said yes. And she asked do I get my K1 and he smiled and said yes congratulations. She asked about getting copies of her medical records and vaccinations made, he agreed to let her but she would have to co... read complete review

Foe the interview process they are first rate. Leading up to the interview it depends upon who answers the phone. There seems to be one woman and one man that take calls in the Consulate section. The woman that answers will look things up and give you good information. But, if the man answers he is lazy, rude, and seems to just put you on hold and then come back with a negative answer. Our package arrived on Nov 13 and they sent out Packet 3 on the 16th. I kept calling and the man told me that they had not received the package. On Dec 4 as I was leaving for Kiev I was lucky and got the woman. She told me when the package had been received and that they had sent out Packet 3. I stopped and e-mailed our response to Packet 3 and 4 days later we received a message scheduling her interview. Again, their website seems to have a disconnect, in this case I was happy about it. The website said that they were scheduling interviews for mid-January yet they gave us a mid-December interview. The in... read complete review

The people at the US Embassy were wonderful. We were nervous that our paper work was not correct and would be rejected. This was all unnessary stress for the people at the embassy were wonderful. We did have some mistakes, and they helped us correct and resubmit. They were very detailed in explaining the process and whats next.
Recommendations:
1)Organize all your paperwork and visit the website to make sure you have all your documents. http://kiev.usembassy.gov/visa_iv_eng.html There were other applicants there on the day we were who had problems because they did not have all the required paper work.
2) Remember to have US$, $190 per applicant
3) Have all paper work translated, notaized and translated. We also had all paperwork apostilled. Not sure it was necessary for embassy, but will be required in the US. Then copy all the documents to give the embassy at the time of application. You nee... read complete review

All things considered, I have to concur with the other members here in saying that everything went well.
Here are some things that you might want to do to in order to be better prepared....
Be sure your fiance has his/her original birth certificate with him/her at the interview. Also,
2 copies of the same birth certificate will come in handy. All of the U.S. governmental websites
& the Kiev embassy website state that only copies are needed, but there appears to be a
disconnect between the several departments. If you have copies & the original on hand at the
interview, the problem is mitigated.
Be at the embassy when it opens, as they will call all of the K applicants in first.
No liquids, gels, or sprays are allowed inside of the embassy. We had to "donate" some cosmetics
to the people waiting outside.
Make sure that your fiance has completed 2 copies of each of the following f... read complete review
