My interview was the 28th of January. I can tell you that they only offered Thursdays when I booked my interview and my time was 9:00 am.
A little information, before I mention my actual experience at the embassy...
I live in Dalarna and I had my sister drive me most of the way. We were advised by our aunt (who has lived in Stockholm for many years) to not drive to the consulate, as it can be tricky to get there and it's hard to park. DON'T TRUST THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM! Make sure you have a lot of time to spare and backup plans aplenty - preferably money, too. The one day I really needed everything to be somewhat on time, the public transportation (the train course I happened to be on) stopped working. It took us 40 minutes to get ahold of a taxi, and the 20 minute drive to the embassy cost us approximately 550 kr (SEK).
There's nothing outside the embassy. Nowhere to step inside or sit down, if you have someone accompanying you to... read complete review

Arrived around 8 am for my 8.30 appointment. There's like a little glass booth with queuing people inside, this is for the non-immigrant visa. The sign for the immigrant visas is in front of this booth, when standing by this sign, you are directly facing the "guard house". I was called up by the security guard and asked to hold up my passport against the window, while he checked for my name on a list. Then I had to take off my jacket and show the sole of my shoes. Then I was let inside and had to go through airport security. Since I was staying at a hotel just around the corner, Villa Kallhagen, I didn't bring anything with me except for my interview papers but there are lockers where you can leave mobiles etc in. Then I followed the yellow line towards the visa office, which is to the left.
Once in the visa office, I was met by another security guard asking what type of visa I was there for. Immigrant visas go to window 7, they've taken away the letters and they now us... read complete review

I had a good experience with the U.S. Embassy in Sweden. I arrived around 7:45, although my appointment wasn't till 8:30. I stood in the yellow line as advised from fellow visajourney members. Around 7:55 I was called by the consular officer who asked me for my passport and for me to take off my jacket and show the soles of my shoes. I then went through a metal detector like you would at an airport. My phone was put into a little cabinet and I got a number so I could retrieve it after the interview. I then followed the yellow line up to a different building. I was asked by an officer what I was there for, I say "K1 Visa" and I was asked you go to window G. I stood there waiting for approx. 10 minutes before anybody showed up at the window. I was asked for all the required documents as they asked for in the email they had sent earlier. REMEMBER TO BRING ORIGINALS OF EVERYTHING. They don't just want copies - I made this mistake with one document that I now have to send to the embassy bef... read complete review

I arrived at 7:45 and was led in around 8:10. You simply stand outside the entrance at the immigration line (yellow sign) and wait until they call you in - you don't have to introduce yourself, they sort of pick who's coming in. Then you have to walk up to this window where you are asked to show your passport, take your jacket off and show the soles of your shoes. They do a security check just like at an airport and you get your bag scanned. Then they tell you to follow a line and go to window G. The line leads to a building where an officer will ask you why you're there and just say that it's for a K1 visa and go to window G. You will have to leave your passport at window G and wait until you're called. Once called, a person will be ready to take your documents; in my case I was asked to hand in DS-160, passport photos, my birth certificate, my fiancée and my co sponsor's tax return transcripts for the past three years and their affidavit of support, proof of relationship and police ... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy around 7:45 in the morning (appointment scheduled at 08:30). Make sure you stand by the "immigrant visa pole" and not the "bus stop" (non-immigrant visas). Even though a K1 is a non-immigrant visa, you go in the immigrant visa line.
They let me in around 8:10. Followed the yellow line and entered the building at the end of it. Took a number and sat down and waited. Then I was called up for a "pre screening" of some kind. A woman took all the required papers she wanted and read through them. After a couple of minutes she told me to take a seat and a CO will call me. Around 8:30 I was called up and read an oath about speaking the truth. I was kinda nervous but it all went away when the CO told me that he was from Ohio and therefore also a Buckeye!
The CO asked me about 10 questions such as "how did you meet?" "describe your first meeting" "was it love at first sight?" "what are you planning on doing in the US for work?
He then said th... read complete review
