I arrived at the embassy around 7:45 in the morning (appointment scheduled at 08:30). Make sure you stand by the "immigrant visa pole" and not the "bus stop" (non-immigrant visas). Even though a K1 is a non-immigrant visa, you go in the immigrant visa line.
They let me in around 8:10. Followed the yellow line and entered the building at the end of it. Took a number and sat down and waited. Then I was called up for a "pre screening" of some kind. A woman took all the required papers she wanted and read through them. After a couple of minutes she told me to take a seat and a CO will call me. Around 8:30 I was called up and read an oath about speaking the truth. I was kinda nervous but it all went away when the CO told me that he was from Ohio and therefore also a Buckeye!
The CO asked me about 10 questions such as "how did you meet?" "describe your first meeting" "was it love at first sight?" "what are you planning on doing in the US for work?
He then said that I was approved and that I can expect the passport with the visa back within 10 business days.
That was it. They are a very nice staff at the American Embassy in Stockholm, there's absolutely nothing to be nervous about (even though one will always be).
