Our appointment was at 7:45am and we were allowed to enter the embassy at 7:30. We both showed our passports, and my husband was allowed in. Went to the second floor - we were maybe 5th or 6th in line. I showed them the appointment letter, gave them my photos and was given a yellow piece of paper telling me the order I should submit the paperwork. The husband and I sat on some chairs and waited for my name to be called. I was called 4 times: First to hand in the civil documents and the I-864. We spoke to a woman, and she asked my husband if he worked in Korea. She then asked if we had set up a joint sponsor as foreign income does not count and the CO would probably request a joint sponsor. We replied we were using assets and she asked us to hand in the bank statements (we gave the most recent bank statements from my husband’s US bank accounts). Second time, I was called as they forgot to give me the DV pamphlet. Third time: A woman scanned my fingerprints. Finally, we were call... read complete review

We are another same-sex couple. My fiancée had an appointment early in the morning and was second to be interviewed. She was very nervous about the interview cause her lack in the English language. Thankfully, the interviewing officer knew Korean, put her at ease and even shared some laughs when he heard we met through a mutual friend while playing an online game hahaha. She said the interview took 10 minutes. At the end, the interviewing officer told her congrats and that she was approved!!! The whole process from when she walked in and out of the embassy was 2 hours.

The interview was set for 7:45am but by the time we arrived (7:30am) there were several people waiting to be seen. We were first asked to go to the 2nd floor where we presented the return address registration document, photos, and passport. We thought we needed to wait a long time since the line had at least 20 people in it however were asked to go to the 3rd floor. We were given a document that listed the right order to organize our paperwork. When we were called to the window, we presented out documents and she asked us basic questions about my time in Korea and whether I had a job. She asked further questions about my income since it's listed as 0 (I have no income in the US, only Korea) and because we had a joint-sponsor application (my father). After that they said they would call us again later. About 30 minutes later they called us up a second time to verify a name on the document since we made a mistake on the translation. Even so, she was gracious enough to fix it for us and j... read complete review

Consulate opens at 7:30 am. We only brought our paperwork and one phone (which was stored upon entry). The whole process took about 2-2.5 hours, but I think that depends on the amount of paperwork you provide them. Both the petitioner and the applicant were able to answer questions during the interview. The interviewer was kind and straightforward as well as patient. If the officers need any additional information, they would call you up to the booth again before the interview. The interview itself was only about 5 minutes long. The process went:
1. Submit documents
2. Interview

I think it's important to upload as many supplementary documents as possible to NVC to strengthen your case. We brought a lot of paperwork that ultimately wasn't submitted because it was already uploaded online.

Our interview was at 7:45am.

7:20 got to the embassy with the petitioner (were maximum 5 people already there, one woman with 3 kids before us)
7: 25 got inside (left phones and went up to the 2nd floor where they checked passport, 2 photos and document return address registration)
Went to the 3rd floor and got called to the window where Korean lady was asking questions and checking papers.
The lady asked: How long you been married? where does your spouse live? some other questions I cant remember but not complicated
Then she said she will give the documents to the officer who will interview me and I sat down.
Waited around 1.5 hours or more from the moment we entered and was called for an interview with another male officer with petitioner.

He asked:
Where did you meet?
The timeline of our relationship.
Why we married relatively early> my husband replied (met 2019 march, married 2020 January)
