The interview was set for 7:45am but by the time we arrived (7:30am) there were several people waiting to be seen. We were first asked to go to the 2nd floor where we presented the return address registration document, photos, and passport. We thought we needed to wait a long time since the line had at least 20 people in it however were asked to go to the 3rd floor. We were given a document that listed the right order to organize our paperwork. When we were called to the window, we presented out documents and she asked us basic questions about my time in Korea and whether I had a job. She asked further questions about my income since it's listed as 0 (I have no income in the US, only Korea) and because we had a joint-sponsor application (my father). After that they said they would call us again later. About 30 minutes later they called us up a second time to verify a name on the document since we made a mistake on the translation. Even so, she was gracious enough to fix it for us and just let us know, she also asked for our DS-260 at that time.
We waited for quite a while, we didn't get interviewed until past 11am. We were interviewed by a very polite gentleman who asked us a few questions:
1. How long have you know each other? Stated the length.
2. When did you get married (to husband) ? Stated the date.
3. How long have you been in Korea (to me, the sponsor)? Gave this information.
3. I see that you have children, are they US citizens? Yes.
4. Do you have a job lined up in Korea (to me, the sponsor)? I do and explained what it was.
5. Where are you moving to? (to my husband) Stated with parents until we settled in.
6. When do you plan to move to the US (to both of us)? Stated that date.
He also verified that my husband had read and understood the human trafficking and DV document. Then he said, great everything looks good, your visa has been approved, you will receive it within a week. We left the interview place around 11:30am. When I went home, I checked the site and it said it was undergoing Administrative Processing on 5/4, 5/5 was a national holiday, and by 5/6 morning time, it had been listed as "Issued". We received the visa today (5/7).
The processing is very fast! Although the waiting time was a bit long, everyone was kind and polite. Bring a good book, be patient, and everything will (hopefully) turn out okay!
