Fast and efficient, on time. Had to make a return visit to the consulate with more info but that went well. Glad to have the experience over with.

My K1 visa interview was scheduled at 9am today, 30-Jan-2009. Although the first lady (an Asian with American accent) was not that friendly, the whole process went well. More importantly, I have been approved! Yay!!!javascript:emoticon('')
I arrived at 8:25am, waiting at the tent outside of the Embassy until the guard called us, those have appointment at 8:45am and 9:00am to get in line. It was about 10 minutes to 9:00am. After the security check and all, I went straight to the room for non-immigrant and immigrant visas. It is on the left after the heavy glass doors. There were not many visa applicants today, about 50 of them I supposed. It was more when I was here for the tourist visa application before. Anyway, I pressed the first button on the queuing machine that shows Immigrant Visa and waited for my number to be called. Mine was 002. After waiting for few minutes, window 7, labeled for Immigrant Visa was opened. 001 was called but no one answer... read complete review

I got there an hour before my interview time (I arrived at 8am, interview was at 9am) and started queueing at the tent outside the entrance. It was only five minutes before 9am did I realise that I was in the wrong queue! The queue was for typical travel and non-immigrant visas. Ours on the other hand, is an immigrant visa (like the lady at Counter 2 quite rudely told me so, when I had taken the wrong queue number), so I spoke to the security guard, showed him my appointment letter and he let me in.
I was nervous as I was there alone. Almost all other applicants had their partners with them, so I was apprehensive. They got through okay, though as far as I could tell. I guess I was lucky to get a friendly interviewer.
Before I continue, let me just note that prior to the interview day, I had dreams (nightmares, really) of how the interview would be like. I had dreams of being in a dark, stuffy, windowless room with only a large mirror on the side wall, a hu... read complete review

The whole process was simple easy and professionally conducted. I arrived at the Consulate at 8 45Am and was asked to wait in queue. Entered and picked up a queue number for immigration visa. Obviously I was first . At the counter I was asked to submit my documents and cashiers order. Then was asked few simple questions like where and when you met your fiance. Then I was asked to wait for the consular officer to interview me. It was a 30-40 minute wait, I was again asked a few simple questions after I was made to swear all that I say is true. He asked me: how many times your fiancee visited you?, what is she doing?, what is her dad doing?, when did she move to the US? what I am doing in Singapore? he dint even ask me when I am planning to get to the US He made me singn some document for military service if required since I am in the age group of 18-26. He took my finger prints. Then asked me about our engagement. I showed him the pictures I brought... read complete review

It all went very smoothly and very positively. The consulate was very nice, asked a few questions and even commented on how I wouldn't have any problems getting a job in the US. Whole interview took place over the counter through a glass pane and was done in about 5-10 minutes. Received my passport back with my visa, was wished well by the consulate and left. (There is probably a more detailed posting in the forums...I'm writing this later
