First of all it is recommended that you get there early. The embassy opens at 7:00a.m. My husband got there at 6:00a.m and their was no one there just the security man, so my husband was the first one in line. The security man will tell you where to go and you have to wait there. He just waited for about 5 minutes then they called him. First he talk to a Peruvian lady at a window, she then asked him for his medical results, then she asked him questions like where did you two meet, how many times did she visit you and what is her occupation. Also, she asked if he had any evidence and he just showed him photos. She then told him to sit and wait then in 10 minutes an American lady gave him a sheet of paper like taking an oath and he had to read it out loud. Then she asked him the same questions as before. While asking him the questions she was looking over the papers that we had sent to the NVC and the photos. then she just said all smiling "Congratulations your visa is approved." Our appointment was at 8:45 but we arrived there at 8.30 and there was already a long line and one of our applications was not fully completed since we could not print it the night before due to computer issues.
Luckily there were those guys that fill it out on the spot across the street and that was big help. it was 20 soles but worth it.
I took a big carry on bag w/all papers (a bit too much) just take the essentials and pictures, they asked for pictures.
They ask her a couple of basic questions if she was married and if she is been to the US (No) and else the times that we seen each other. (She was nervous and missed one date). I was advised to seat down and not to be part of the interview. Then they told her to seat down and wait, after 15 minutes they call her again and they ask her more questions this time it was abt me (if I was married before (she said I don't know) and they asked for pictures and how we met.
