Arrived the embassy just before 6am for my 6.45am appointment.
General instructions were issued before entry into the Embassy. Important to listen well. "Open the envelopes of your medical reports, bring out your interview letters and your most receipt passport"
Appointments for 6.30, 6.45 and 7am were called. The first stop checks that you have no banned items in your folders or with you.
Second stop checks your IV letter and gives you a number. I was number 8
Then entry into the Consulate for the interview. I was given a contact card to fill name, address phone number and email.
Firstly attended to by a Nigerian, she requested for originals of the Police Cert, Birth Cert and Marriage certificates; and also requested copies. Originals are returned. She also collected the medical report.
Added the documents to my packet and passed it on to the CO. Was called about 7minutes later to W... read complete review

My Interview was scheduled at 6:30AM but I was there before 6AM. I took a taxi from Ketu to the Embassy.
My Interview took about 3 minutes.
As the lady was greeting me she was handing over the documents that my fiancee submitted during the filing process.
Then she asked the following questions:
Have you gotten married before? I answered
Has your fiancee married before? I answered
When did you meet? I answered
How did you meet? As I was answering she brought out COLLECTING YOUR ISSUED VISA form and circled a DHL address in the FORM and I said should go there and pick up my visa in 10 days time.
I was supposed to be out off the Embassy in less than an hour 30 minutes but I ended up spending 2 hours 30 minutes. I was supposed to be the number 5 person to be interviewed but I ended up number 23 because I forgot to remove my BANK token that I kept in my bag and the security guys sent me out to g... read complete review

My fiancé had his interview this morning at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos. He got there at about 5:30am and security screening began at 6am. After going through that process and submitting the required paperwork, he waited for his number to be called and approached the window. He was interviewed by an Asian man who wasn't too friendly initially but not mean either. We read a LOT of interview reviews here for Lagos and saw that most people were asked around 4 questions during their interview so that's what we were expecting. My fiancé was asked the following ELEVEN questions:
1. Who is petitioning for you?
2. How did you meet?
3. How does your fiancé know the person who introduced you both to each other?
4. Where does your fiancé live?
5. Is that in Houston? (I live in a suburb of Houston, TX)
6. Have you ever been to Houston?
7. Do you have any kids?
8. Does your fiancé have any kids?
9. When did you last see... read complete review

Very good experience at the consulate.... I want to provide my experience as someone who waited outside of the Embassy while my fiance was being interviewed..... appointment was at 630 am.... by 500 am we were in a cab on our way to VI... we arrived and joined a group of people waiting by the carpark for the appointment time.... the Embassy started processing people by 6am... they went through security, which we onlookers could witness, then they went into a separate holding before entering the Embassy. That is all I could see from my standpoint.... everyone who was waiting on someone who was interviewing that day had to wait inside the carpark.... being the naive US citizen I am, I was thinking we would be waiting somewhere with chairs and a restroom....no waiting room is available... I stood or sat in the carpark for 2.5 hours awaiting my fiance to return... which wasn't too long at all... There are vendors selling food and such... there's even a local restaurant within the carpar... read complete review
