The interview was held in Lagos and it was not a plesant experience. We sailed through everything until we got to the consular's post. The consular was very rude. He was young and white. One of the first questions he asked my husband was why was he smiling. My husband is very friendly and as he approached the window he had a smile on his face. He accused my husband of not taking this occasion as serious(???//what?). He explained to my husband to look him in the eyes while he was talking to him and accused my husband of paying me to marry him. Refused to look at any of the Western Union receipts where I have to send him money due to his small business hitting more lows than highs these days. After my husband's wife of 29 years died I met him through his daughter who is here in the US, it was my doing, noy my husband's. I saw a picture of him and wanted to meet him. Took months before he agreed. I put all that on the application that passed USCIS with flying colors but apparently the con... read complete review

Paul was approced on June 5, 2007, I recieved the call at 11:42am. I am just now submitting the review because I have been traveling with my job. Whew!!!! I am so glad to be home now!
I wanted to give everyone an update on what exactly happened at the embassy. Paul’s experience was like no other that I have seen on the site. Let me start out by saying that he advises anyone that is going there to wear clothes that are warm and comfortable as you will be in for a long wait in a very cold place. Also, no cell phones are allowed in the embassy, so you may want to keep that in mind. He was in line for the embassy and once they found the cell phone on him, they put him out until he got rid of it. Paul said that he was quite discouraged when he seen person after person leaving the room looking quite gloomy, so be prepared to see this and don’t be discouraged because of it.
Paul goes into the room and a lady interviews him. He said that the in... read complete review

Well, I have never poseted a timeline as I did not let myself think about the time nor did I check for anything happening in the process. I just could not let myself worry as we started the process once before and at the end were unable to finish it so I had been there and done that and refused to do it again!!! So, it all seemed to along faster than expected even though it was quite a long wait!! I have used VJ alot along the way for info, so feel this is the important part to share!! I filed the petition the around the middle of November and we got the NOA 2 approval notice I think in the middle or end of February. He went to the embassy about 4 weeks later and received packets 3 and was given an interview date of May 21st. I already had plans to visit in April to take all the documents he would need. Sam had his interview on May 21st and it seemed to go fairly well other than arriving at 7 am and waiting about 9 hours with no food or water (he won't drin... read complete review

Well, VJ members, I need those of you who know how to pray, to pray that all goes well for us on Tuesday. I am positive that God's will, will be done in our case. And since, I know that Jer 29:11, says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. We know what our expectations are and I know that it is God's will for us to be together. God is good! I will give everyone an update as soon as I hear from my baby, I was successful. God bless everyone in your future endeavors and remember to keep Paul and Genny in your prayers!
