On 23rd of Febuary, I got a letter with interview date of March 9th 2009. Which seemed very sudden after 10months of waiting for I-129F approval. It only barely gave enough me time for the medical (I went with Dr Damian Rutledge rather Dr Tim Glesson, who I used in May 2008, as the time of result was 48hours against a week). Then I noted that my Police Certificate from April 2008 could out of date(it turned out it was) so I applied for another a donnybrook gardai station. I met a gardai over the following weekend I was first in the 1pm appointment queue. And we molety crew of families, couples, some people of their own, like me. They would not take an extra 3 cents from me.
They ask for letters, but were safitied with a collection christmas, valetines, brithday cards. It might been I have to the USA so often and that was here quite often but they did quite ask for much proof of relationship besides the my statement under oath. And all the certificates birth, marriage, police. I did... read complete review

They sent the outdated version of DS-156K so make sure you get the new one online!
He got there at about 12:30. Was seen about 2:00. There were about 4 people in line. They told him because his birth cert last name was spelled different from his passport he'd have to go somewhere and get an insert in his passport but they weren't very clear at all about what he needed to do, and that's still not sorted. He had to take the train all the way home and he'll have to make phone calls to figure out what to do and then go back. So they checked that he had all his documents, then he paid the cashier, then did his fingerprints, then interviewed. He was approved but he has to get his birth cert issue settled.
As far as the actual interview -
All they were interested in were the financial support documents. He asked basic questions, what's your fiancee's name, where does she work, where is she from, when did you visit, what was your longest st... read complete review

Bring a book, bring a lunch, and most importantly bring patience. And check the cover sheet of the mysterious brown envelope before you leave the Embassy.
For immigrant visa interviews, the Embassy's security won't let you enter the building earlier than 1pm. Mobiles aren't allowed in the building (security will hold them for you).
My husband's interview letter said to be at the Embassy at 1pm but he wasn't called to the desk until 2pm. They first asked for his paperwork - passport, birth certificate, marriage licence, the sealed medical results, police certificate, Form I-864, two passport photos and the $400 visa fee. Once he handed over all the paperwork, they told him to sit and wait.
An hour later he was called for the interview. It took all of ten minutes, the majority of questions were about our assets and specific questions about me (the USC). He was told at the end of the interview that his visa had been approved and to agai... read complete review

Had a great experience at the Dublin embassy. From the security to the office staff they were all well mannered and helpful.
I joined a Queue of just myself and another girl. Was called to a window and a lady asked me for the required info. I then went and paid the fee, took a seat, called by another lady to sign some forms. I then sat again and waited to be called my the Consular Officer. He was a young guy and not a bit intimidating as i'd imagined he would be. I saw the approved stamp on my case before he even start asking me Questions
Question were :- What does your Fiance work at?
Where does he work?
Where does he live and for how long?
When did you get engaged and when do you think you'll be married?
How did you meet?
Simple little things and I had nothing to hide. Waited about 45mins for the Visa and I was done. I ... read complete review

Arrived at 12.50 for my interview at 1.00. Allowed into the security area where my phone and keys were taken to be returned on exit. Sat in waiting area for 15 minutes and called to submit my DS-156 and other documents. Told to pay the cashier €100 even though the packet 3 asked me to get a bank draft for €107.00. I agve the cashier the draft and got a receipt. Asked to return to my seat and waited another 20 minutes. Called again to submit my DS-156K and asked to sit down once again. Another 30 minutes passed and I was called for my interview which was carried out at the window in the main waiting area. The other people in the waiting area could hear the whole interview which was slightly off putting but it only took about 10 minutes and the questions were fine. I was then told that I was approved for the visa but that I would have to return at 3.30 to pick it up. Luckily I had my drivers licence with me which I needed as ID to gain access back into the Embassy. The Embassy kept m... read complete review
