Arrived at 12.50 for my interview at 1.00. Allowed into the security area where my phone and keys were taken to be returned on exit. Sat in waiting area for 15 minutes and called to submit my DS-156 and other documents. Told to pay the cashier €100 even though the packet 3 asked me to get a bank draft for €107.00. I agve the cashier the draft and got a receipt. Asked to return to my seat and waited another 20 minutes. Called again to submit my DS-156K and asked to sit down once again. Another 30 minutes passed and I was called for my interview which was carried out at the window in the main waiting area. The other people in the waiting area could hear the whole interview which was slightly off putting but it only took about 10 minutes and the questions were fine. I was then told that I was approved for the visa but that I would have to return at 3.30 to pick it up. Luckily I had my drivers licence with me which I needed as ID to gain access back into the Embassy. The Embassy kept my passport while the visa was being processed.

Returned at 3.30 and told to wait once more. My visa was handed to me at around 4pm. I was handed back my passport which now has a US sticker with my visa details and photograph. I was also handed a sealed envelope which I give to an immigration official at my point of entry to the States.

Everybody I had to deal with was courteous and business like. The experience was fine apart from all of the waiting.
