So my K1 visa interview was at 11am on 23rd Feb 2015. When you arrive at the embassy you go through security and hand over your phone, which they place in a small locker, then they give you an ID badge with a key to your locker.
After you go through security you go to into the main building to a large waiting room, where you are met by security guards who ask why you're there and tell you where you need to go.
In the waiting room there are hatches/windows numbered 1 to 4 on the right where you go to hand over your documents and pay the visa fee (I paid by postal order). Next to these there is a hatch/window where you have your interview (its very open and everyone can hear/see when you're being interview).
I arrived 45mins early and when I was handing over my documents I was told I'd have a long wait. The waiting area was full. Most of the people in there at that time were students applying for their J1 visas. When it got closer to 11am a couple more K1 visa interv... read complete review

Had my interview at 1pm and turned up 35 mins before at the entrance and told to come back at 12:45pm.
Arrived back at that time and had to line up in the freezing cold not too long a wait. security is the usual airport security.
Once inside had to get to a window and basically tell them who I was and they looked over my file. Was told I was missing a document for which totally put me off my focus as I had a certified copy of the original. At this point I was handed back my chest scans. I was the 2nd in line but was the first to be called as others had to pay fees.
I was called to the interview window after a couple of minutes of waiting. I was greeted by two woman who were very friendly. She reviewed my paperwork and reviewed all the taxes etc. Then got my finger prints scanned and swore everything was correct.
I was asked where I met my wife? When did we start our relationship? where does her family live? When I planned on moving to the US? What did my wi... read complete review

Had my interview on 2nd (Monday) at 1pm. I had mostly the same experience as everyone else so Im not going to repeat the same details. The biggest tip I can give any future applicants is to pay the fee in USD. I stupidly used euros and because the exchange rate fluctuates so much the fee in euros jumped a fair bit. The total fee for 2 applicants (myself and my son on the letter was €456 - the fee on the day was €478).
There were 4 people for the interview and they seem to call us by the order we arrived. Unfortunately because I did not have the exact amount for the fee I had to wait for the cashier to come back with change and this bumped me back to the end of the queue. At the time this didnt seem like such a big deal as there were only 4 of us but the person before me got grilled at the counter for well over 45 minutes so my total time at the embassy ended up being 2 hours (if I had been in the original place in the queue it would have been done and dusted in... read complete review

Today (22nd Jan) myself and son had our K1 & k2 interviews. We live in Dublin so only had to leave at 12:20 (interview was at the what seems to be standard 1pm time). We arrived at the embassy at 12:40pm, got dropped of around the corner and walked around. Plenty of parking on streets surrounding embassy. I got to the embassy itself at 12:45pm and went to the window expecting to have to wait a few more minutes, they let us go through the door to the right, where you enter a airport like security screening. They asked for my passport and then for me to empty belongings into tub to go through screening. I then had to leave my phone (switched off) in locker to which they give you a key for when your leaving to collect.
I then exited that area and went up to main building, up the ramp on right hand side. Where you are greeted by another member of security and asked what your purpose is (passport or visa). You then sit and wait to be called to a window in front. There are se... read complete review

Hi Folks,
I’m just going to give you quick synopsis of my experience with the US Embassy.
I had my interview January 5th 2015 at 1pm. (1pm is the standard time for any one by the looks of it and generally on a Monday with a K-1 (just my experience)). I was originally scheduled for January 12th 2015 at 1pm but I chanced my arm and dropped them an email (dublincons@state.gov) December 15th 2014 to see if I could get in sooner and they rang me on December 16th approving my request. (I’m as lucky as a black cat, so I’ve been told)
I got to the Embassy about 12.30pm and parked the car near the embassy (plenty of space to park - €2.90 per hour on-street parking – I threw in €5.80 for two hours). I waited in the car until 12.50pm and then went to the Embassy.
I was asked for ID and went through standard airport security screening, everything out of pockets and belt off etc. Then they asked me to put my keys and phone (electronics) in a... read complete review
