Had my interview on 2nd (Monday) at 1pm. I had mostly the same experience as everyone else so Im not going to repeat the same details. The biggest tip I can give any future applicants is to pay the fee in USD. I stupidly used euros and because the exchange rate fluctuates so much the fee in euros jumped a fair bit. The total fee for 2 applicants (myself and my son on the letter was €456 - the fee on the day was €478).
There were 4 people for the interview and they seem to call us by the order we arrived. Unfortunately because I did not have the exact amount for the fee I had to wait for the cashier to come back with change and this bumped me back to the end of the queue. At the time this didnt seem like such a big deal as there were only 4 of us but the person before me got grilled at the counter for well over 45 minutes so my total time at the embassy ended up being 2 hours (if I had been in the original place in the queue it would have been done and dusted in under an hour).
My own interview lasted around 10 minutes or less. I was asked -
How I met my fiance?
When did we meet in person?
Where did he stay when he arrived?
Did I visit him in the US?
Describe his house?
Did I meet his family?
Did he meet my family?
Did my sons dad have any issue with us leaving?
I was then told I was approved. Apart from the hiccup with the fee my overall experience was a good one and found the people at the embassy friendly. Best of luck to all future applicants
